Enjoy a picturesque, quiet log-cabin mountain retreat -- for a romantic weekend or a family getaway. Leave the city behind and listen to the beautiful sounds of Fountain Creek rushing through the property just 20 feet from your front door. At the base of the the Pikes Peak Mountain range, this charming log-cabin will be your oasis in the mountains. All you can ask for in a mountain retreat. Accessible main floor living, this home has a stone wood burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen (with all amenities) and dining area, 2 bedrooms (one queen, and 2 twins), a pull out couch, and 1 full bathroom. Amenities include strong and stable WiFi, YouTube-TV with Smart TV Apps like NetFlix, Amazon Prime Movies, HBOMax and an Alexa music system and local phone for emergencies. Full access to 2-acre property and view of creek and 360 degree mountain peaks including Waldo Canyon and the foothills of Pikes Peak. You'll have access to the entire 2-acre space located in a quiet mountain neighborhood. This is a mountain neighborhood and community 1/2 mile off the highway. If there is new-snow, you may need AWD or 4x4 to access the property (between November - April). The snow usually will melt in 2-4 days, but you're in the mountains, so understand that it's quiet and remote and the neighborhood does not have an HOA. If it snows more than 3", a plow service will come through to clear the snow, it only snows November-April. Most vehicles will be able to access the property unless it's a really low corvette or something with very low clearance. Once you get through the neighborhood, the 2-acre property is at the end of a dead-end road, so it's very private and secluded, although in a mountain neighborhood. You won't see your neighbors, but they are about 600-800 yards away. The view from the patio-deck is of Waldo Canyon and the foothills of Pikes Peak, most of the neighborhood homes are not within sight lines of the property. Within 2-miles of the home there are a few fun bars and restaurants and within 6-miles is a good sized town (Woodland Park) where you can can find grocery stores, restaurant, breweries, gas stations and other services. Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations, including door knobs, remotes, faucet handles, fridge handles, and other surfaces. Using GPS on your phone will bring you right to the property (google maps or apple maps both work perfectly). Your dogs are welcome, but you must notify host of breed and the number of dogs that will be accompanying your stay (max 2). There will be an additional $25 cleaning fee per dog. We love dogs, but they are not allowed on any furniture, and owners must pick up after their pet. Cats are not allowed. Lastly the home has a septic, so please refrain from flushing anything besides toilet paper and normal stuff down the drain. And we’re on city water, so the water is fresh and tastes good.
