Our quaint cabin has been restored and remodeled for a clean, comfortable feel. There is direct access to Alder Creek trail and Tahoe Forest only a few hundred feet away. You’ll love our place because of the coziness, the light, and amenities, including a new hot tub. Our place is good for 1-2 couples, small groups and/or a few kids, but too tight for large groups. Our A-frame has brand new bathrooms, kitchen, carpet, wood floors, furniture and beds, along with a 2 car garage. It has an international rustic-modern design aesthetic. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a single queen bed and the slightly larger one occupies 2 full-sized bunk beds. The upstairs master bedroom leads into a loft for playing, reading, or relaxing. The kitchen is fully stocked with new appliances and cutlery for any amateur chef to prepare and serve a feast. Gathering and entertaining are done in the main room, with a 50" flatscreen SmartTV (streaming apps only), 5.1 Bluetooth enabled surround sound and can be kept warm with a classic and functional wood-burning fireplace on the opposite side of the dining table. The Southern facing wall is mostly windows that look onto the deck, pine trees, and a sitting area above direct access to Alder Creek trail. We added an extension to the deck and a hot tub that is available for use at your own risk. We have a smart reader to adjust the water quality and require guests to shower before entry. Sanitizer should be added after every use. The property is easy to find but sits below the road. Look out for a wooden beige bear box with reflective "hearts" & "diamonds" on Alder Creek road. This is our active second home, we treat it that way and ask you to do the same - with care, attention and respect. Please make us aware of any issues during the stay, not after departure. The cabin is located on the Tahoe Donner association in NE Truckee and includes guest passes to all of the amenities, including Trout Creek Recreation Center, downhill and cross country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, golf, tennis, 2 swimming pools, and access to a private beach at Donner Lake. There is no street parking available and the driveway needs to be managed with care during snow/icy conditions. There is a contract snowplow service, however, the driveway may not be clear with a later arrival. This is a home in the mountains. There are bears, coyotes, racoons and the weather that comes with it. Be mindful of the surroundings. Walking distance to Adventure Center and 30 minutes from 10 resorts. There is walking/biking trail next to Alder Creek that runs through the back of the property. We do charge a 12% short term rental tax on all stays. This is billed as a SEPARATE LINE ITEM after you book. Unfortunately Airbnb doesn't automatically collect this fee and it goes directly to the city/county. Town of Truckee Registration Certificate #854.
