Need to switch off? What could be better than retreating to the heart of nature? At the foot of the Hautes Fagnes and its magnificent promenades, less than 5 kilometers from the Spa-Francorchamps racetrack, this log cabin is a true haven of peace. Whether you're hiking, biking or skiing in winter, come and enjoy the great outdoors. Any questions during your stay? I'm at the bottom of the garden, so drop in for a coffee! @soon :-) The space Welcome to my home! Having lived in Quebec for ten years, I missed this country cottage universe... I love nature, walks, evenings by the fire... But be careful... in the country, at the entrance to the woods, doesn't mean isolated in the middle of the woods, there are still neighbors and no big bad wolf, but don't be surprised if a deer comes to graze in the garden :-). We understand that when you're not there, I'm there, so I've fitted it out according to my own needs, but with a certain simplicity to try and keep the real values... So it's true, you won't find a microwave or electric cooker (I like to cook the old-fashioned way), but there's nothing like a gas stove and a good set of saucepans! There's also a small oven if you like gratins :-) And what could be better than warming up your evenings with the sound of a crackling wood fire, while making yourself a nice herbal tea on the stove :-) Don't worry, there's central heating too! In the living room, the sofa can be converted into a 2-person bed, there's cable TV and even...(forgive me, I'm a bit of a geek)...Netflix... (this is my only exception, I promise...) Oh, and the code for the WiFI is on the right-hand side of the fridge... :-) The bedroom has a double bed and a bedside table (with usb plugs for your best friend...). It's not very big, like a little cabin in the chalet, but lying in bed with the curtains open, you get a breathtaking view of the stars... The bathroom is functional. Shower, sink, toilet, towel warmer, what else? Outside, there's a terrace with a table and four chairs, plus a charcoal bbq. There's a 700 m2 garden, a swing and a slide. Parking for at least 4 cars is available directly at the chalet entrance. What type of coffee machine? A large Italian-style machine (it has its own charm, you'll see :-)) To the right of the French window, you'll find a number of maps to help you plan your outings? just hand them over before you leave. On the table you'll find a binder with all the information you'll need to stock up on everything you'll need to prepare delicious meals. As far as waste is concerned, Stavelot is a green commune. Recycling bins are at your disposal in the laundry/dressing room, with a small drawing on each bin indicating what it is ready to collect. The outside garbage can is also divided into two sections: on the left for household waste (garbage), on the right for green waste (compost). In this room you'll also find a washing machine and tumble dryer. Hockai lies at an altitude of 550 m, so it's not surprising that in winter you'll see a white carpet covering the ground... A snow shovel will be at your disposal next to the front door :-) If you have any questions or need any information, don't hesitate to come and see me in the little container house at the bottom of the garden! I only ask that you respect my personal belongings and return the chalet in the same condition as you found it. Thank you!
