Wildwood is a special rainforest retreat in the heart of Cape Tribulation set on an exotic fruit orchard. It has 2 hand built wooden cabins, a large house, over 800 trees & 7 acres of World Heritage rainforest just 10 mins walk from Cape Tribulation The space Wildwood is the only self catering property on privately owned Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest which is just 10 mins walk to Cape Tribulation beach. The cabins are set on a rare exotic fruit orchard and guests are welcome to pick their own fruit as they wish from the 100+ trees on the property. They include mangosteens, soursop, jack fruit, grumichama, rollinia, rambutan, carambola, jaboticaba, black sapote, star apple and many many more Guest access The cabins are raised about 2.5 metres off the ground and have a queen size bed, bathroom, kitchenette and large verandah with table and chairs overlooking the gardens and forest. They are an open plan with separate bathroom. There is a twin ring gas top as well as bbq, open fire pit, fridge and all cooking utensils and crockery as well as basic provisions such as salt, pepper, tea, coffee, mosquito coils and cleaning equipment. Wildwood has 2 creeks which run seasonally with the rains and has several swimming holes after heavy downpours. The creek is about 2 metres from the cabin and runs through the rainforest. Wildwood is one of the few properties in the Daintree which offers guests the chance to walk through World Heritage listed rainforest on a private, self-guided rough walking track. The land is home to many rare and endangered species of plant and animal life and the World Heritage listing means the land can never be cleared and will always be preserved for future generations. There is a loop rainforest walk, which takes approximately 45.
