Spacious Garden Apartment with Sauna and Fireplace

English garden apartment in historic Wilmette home with a private entrance, sauna, washer/dryer, kitchenette, dining area, recreation room with pool table, vintage pinball machine, and a wood-burning fireplace with gas igniter. Two queen beds, 1 full-size sleeper sofa, and a single mattress are available for large families. Ideal access to Northwestern University for all events. **Please note the apartment is located on the garden level and does NOT include the entire home.** The space The garden apartment is newly painted, has a new floor, and is ethnically inspired by Helen's South African heritage. It comes fully equipped with a coffee maker, toaster oven, tea kettle, stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher drawer in the kitchenette, and includes all linens and towels. If there is anything else you may need, you can borrow from our kitchen. Guest access Guests will have full access to the entire basement of the house (not the entire house). Inside the garden apartment is a recreation room with a pool table, fireplace, and flat-screen TV. There is a sleeper sofa should you want to travel with your family, and we can provide additional mattresses as needed. You are also welcome to enjoy your morning coffee or sundowner on our front porch, one of the most spectacular porches in Wilmette. Please feel free to use our grill if you'd like. Access to WiFi is included. There is ample street parking directly out front. Other things to note Please only book if you will be staying as one of the guests. Unfortunately, we won't be able to accept your reservation request if you are booking on behalf of another person. The house is within walking distance to the Northwestern football stadium. For families moving new students to Northwestern, it is just a short drive away. It is also a short walk to the Linden Purple Line train station and the Central Street, Evanston METRA station. Some pets are OK with an additional non-refundable pet fee per pet. We do have breed restrictions and do not allow dogs over 35 lbs. No cats, please. There is a small pond in the garden that is filled in the summer. Guests with small children should never lose sight of them if they are out exploring the garden. For larger groups that will be using both queen-size beds, one of the beds is adjacent to the furnace room, which can be a little noisy. If you are sensitive to noise, we recommend bringing earplugs :). The master bedroom is not impacted by this noise. Our home is in a beautiful, lush garden, which is home to many little creatures, including some that may wander in for a visit. You may encounter an ant, small, harmless spiders, or a ladybug.
