Beautiful villa with pool near Carcassonne

Our pretty villa in Palaja, Carcassonne is large and roomy, ideal for couples or families. Sleeps up to 8. It has a private pool set in a lovely garden. There is a large covered terrace with dining table and full sized gas barbeque. This is a great space for alfresco dining with friends. 10 minute walk to local shops (1km). 10 minute drive to the Cite in Carcassonne (6km), 10 minutes to lake with beach, and 17 minutes from Carcassonne airport. The space The sunroom has a full-sized table tennis table, a great space for kids to hang out. We have a lovely pool, (which we keep closed during the winter) and lots of shady spaces to chill out. We also have a basketball hoop and in the large garden there’s is a full sized trampoline.The first bedroom, bathroom and toilet is at the front of the house, and the other two bedrooms and bathroom and toilet are at the other end. This allows for further privacy if needed. In October 2015 we installed a new contemporary kitchen, streamlining the living area. The house is surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and hedging and located at the end of a quiet cul de sac. If you want peace and quiet this is the place for you but you’re only a short drive from the bustling centre of Carcassonne. It’s a a beautiful old citadel with oodles to do and a huge choice of great places to eat. This quiet private space is ideal for days around the pool, or evenings cooking on our brand new (May 2017) gas barbeque on the terrace. A 5 minute drive will bring you to La Cite, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Carcassonne city centre (called the Bastide or Ville Basse), is another 5 mins drive away, and has much to offer. Because of our location our villa has the added interest and convenience of a large town centre. Our position within Carcassonne means easy access to the motorway and numerous places of interest. Toulouse is an hour away to the north. An hour east will bring you beautiful sandy beaches. Barcelona is two hours on the motorway. The Pyrenees are an hour south. The Montagne Noir, Cathar castles and lots of vineyards are also easily accessible. Guest access All of the space, except part of the wardrobe in the back bedroom and the garden shed. The front coat press has some winter walking clothes you are welcome to wear while you're there if needed. Other things to note Generally very quiet. Our villa is at the end of a cul de sac. There is secure off road parking. We also keep a travel cot if you are bringing a baby.
