The space This charming farmhouse was built in the 1960s. Several upgrades have been done, however it is still an old farmhouse and does lack some modern amenities (central air/heat, cable tv, etc). This house previously belonged to a family that ran a flower farm with horses on the property. This is a working farm, we grow using organic practices. Goats, chickens, peafowl live on the farm. You may see us working on the property, but we respect your privacy during your stay. Town/grocery store is about 15min+. Gas station 5min. Full bed (with 5in gel foam mattress added) in the second bedroom-medium firm bed and pillows, remove 5in gel foam mattress for a firm bed. A small cot is available upon request. Feel free to log into your own online accounts to watch tv programs. Fire pit outside 1 dog allowed with pet fee allowed. Can provide a large crate upon request for no additional fee. Also must keep dog leashed when walking around property due to free ranged farm animals. Can also provide a chain for dog for outside if requested (no fenced in area on property). There is a fireplace however it is actually a furnace fireplace, so not a traditional one. We ask that you do not use it during your stay because it is more complex to use than a traditional fireplace. Guest access Guests can access all of the rental. Mud room is intended as a storage area, not for use by guests. Other things to note Steep but paved driveway with turn at top. Peacock mating season is March-August. Indigo (our peacock) will be more vocal during this time. There is no trash pickup at the house due to the rural location of the house. Extended stays (or if you need to dispose of trash) can drop trash/recycles off at refuse center, which is convenient to entering or exiting property. A detailed map is provided at the house. If you do not wish to drop off your trash please let me know and I can arrange an early morning pick up time to get the trash if I am available to do so. Elk and deer can frequently be seen at sunrise/sunset very close to the property, and occasionally on the property. NO smoking in house. No central air or heat. Air conditioning units in windows seasonally. Heating is baseboard heat. The house has artesian spring fed well water. Delicious to drink and makes crystal clear ice cubes.
