Description

This 342 square foot room is one of 5 available at the B&B. It has a large sitting area and contains 2 high antique 3/4 beds, one with a twin trundle under it. Well suited for guests wanting to share a room but not the same bed, or for children accompanying their parents. Sleeps 1-5 people. The space This extremely large second floor room contains two antique three quarter beds, one with a twin trundle. This room sleeps 1-5 people. The room cost of $210 includes up to 3 people. A $25 fee will be charged to set up the trundle bed. A $70 fee per person, per night, will be charged for additional guests 12 years and older. The fee is $60 per night per child under 12 years. Babies in arms are free. A full country breakfast is included in the cost. The bathroom, just two steps outside the door, is shared only if the Cherry Room is booked. The room is made sunny and bright by 2 skylights and has a large but cozy sitting area. Steps beside each high bed help to get into bed. One bed, along with the walnut marble topped carved dresser, wash stand and sofa were inherited from Ruth's Victorian era maternal grandmother. The beds are made up with crisp 100% cotton air dried linens, down pillows and duvets. Wool and synthetic blankets and pillows are available upon request. Robes are provided for your use, as are huge bath sheet towels. Guest access Enjoy a cozy wood burning fireplace while you chat, watch TV, read or access your email in the main living room. WiFi is accessible throughout the house In the den, you can also watch TV or play one of the many board games that the family has gathered over the years. You may want to borrow one of the Classics from the bookcase and kick back in a lounge chair to read. Or take your reading material onto one of the three porches to enjoy the fresh country air: The screen porch allows outdoor sitting without the bugs while you watch the birds and butterflies feed on the many flowers in the backyard. The wide wrap around front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing is a serene place to sit as you watch Amish buggies drive by and horses graze in the pastures in the valley. The back porch is an ideal place to watch the birds and wildlife in the woods or enjoy the sight and sound of the fountain in the small pond or the water as it trickles down the waterfall on the hillside behind the house. Enjoy a nature/camping/hunting experience without having to sleep outside: Walk the many paths through 15 acres of woods while you look for deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, wild turkeys and groundhogs, as well as wild flowers and mushrooms. Cross country ski the paths in winter. Follow the Bluebird Trail and check out the nesting boxes to see the eggs and baby bluebirds up close. Roast marshmallows or hot dogs in the woods around a campfire just a short walk up the hill behind the house. Enjoy a picnic in the shady grove while the kids swing under the trees. Outdoor games are available such as cornhole, ladder golf, bocce ball, foursquare, ring toss, molkky, Frisbee golf... Hunters can enjoy a comfortable bed and be only five minutes away from Mohler Wildlife Area, state hunting grounds located on Brokaw Road and in the Mohican forrest. During your stay As history lovers and world travelers, we love to share time and stories with our guests about our area and theirs. However we realize that not everyone wants to converse, so we also respect your wish for privacy. Other things to note A delicious home cooked breakfast is included in your stay: Be pampered and served as your relax and sit at the kitchen table to eat and watch the many birds that come to the feeders just outside the window. Or enjoy your meal on one of the porches or in the picnic grove. For a more formal ambience, request your breakfast in the formal dining room where the table made from a cherry tree from the Luftberg woods can extend to twenty feet! You may choose to participate in your breakfast by picking raspberries from the garden to include with your meal. Enjoy pancakes or waffles served with maple syrup that Bryan and Ruth helped to make in the spring at a neighbor's sugar shack. Homemade bread, still warm, served with Ruth's peach, raspberry and blackberry jams, or fresh coffee cakes and cobblers may also be offered. If you are into lighter fare, start your day with Ruth's favorite; fresh fruit, granola and yogurt or tapioca pudding . Coffee, tea and cocoa as well as cookies are available 24/7 in the Butler's Pantry. Special dietary restrictions or food allergies may be accommodated with advance notice at the time of your reservation.
