Port Barton is a seaside village on the west coast of Palawan and is situated between the Underground River and El Nido. It is a 2 and a half to 3 hour van trip from Puerto Princesa airport, going past the Underground River turnoff on the way. Consider taking the side trip to visit this famous attraction on the way to or from our home. Both public and private transport is available to Port Barton. Some of our guests have rented cars and motor bikes for the trip. 4x4 vehicles are sometimes required. Whilst most of the way from Puerto is on a concreted highway, the last few kilometres of the Port Barton road can be muddy and difficult to traverse at times, particularly in the rainy season which is from July to November. We recommend that our guests use the services of a regular driver who will meet you at the airport, take you shopping if required, provide some cold drinks for the trip, and he'll also give you the option of taking the Underground River trip, if time permits. If your private van is unable to pass on the new road to Gilligans when you arrive or leave, your boat trips from Port Barton and return are included in the rental fee, as is the case with guests using public transport. For those that want to make additional trips back and forward to spend time in Port Barton, there's a small fee to cover fuel and staff costs. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house and kitchen, kayaks, paddle boats and all amenities at the home including our new stand up paddle boards.
