Description
Quiet riverside country Cottage in the uplands of the North Pennines, with limestone flooring, underfloor heating and log burner. Tilery cottage is perfectly situated for discovering the outdoors whether it be while hill walking, cycling, pony trekking or bird watching, then unwind beside it's generous log burner or enjoy long soaks in it's cast iron roll top bath by evening. The space Lovely daylight flooded kitchen diner with large glazed aspect to a small walled front patio. The dining table is central to the space offering an open socialising area while cooking. The sitting room has a large wood burner with large sofa, and chairs for relaxing, TV FreeSat plus a BlueRay DVD player. There is an adjacent office room to the side with desk space for writing, drawing or reading. One floor up there are two bedrooms and one bathroom with roll top cast iron bath (sorry no shower). Bedroom one has a king size bed (equivalent to USA queen size), it is a full size mattress not zip&link). Bedroom two can be configured for either twin beds or a king bed (zip & link), please let me know before your arrival which configuration you will prefer, asap after booking is best but at least one week before arrival. Guest access Entire house with outdoor space for sitting and dining. The cottage is centrally heated with cast iron radiators, thermostatically controlled by you. The log burner will be laid and ready to light with a few additional logs in the hearth to start your first evening. The nearest supplier of bagged logs and kindling is the Co-Op 4 miles away in Allendale. Other things to note Tilery cottage is near the river and also a pond in the neighbouring field. You must be mindful that these water sources, while enjoyable, can be dangerous to your children and pets if they are not supervised while playing. The adjacent and surrounding fields will often have livestock, usually sheep but sometimes cows. This means that you will need to walk your dog on a lead during this time while in the immediate area.
