Sunny, quiet first floor 2 bedroom apartment in owner occupied 4-Flat apartment building. It is located in the Southwest corner of Chicago’s Cook County. [Note: long term stays are available.] The building's eastern view overlooks the southern suburbs of Chicago Ridge, Oak Lawn and Bridgeview. First floor unit. 5 stairs up from ground level. One King Size bed in Master bedroom; twin bunk beds in 2nd bedroom. Additional beds available, including Queen mattress can be added if you need. The kitchen is fully equipped. You can do everything from make a quick cup of coffee with the Keurig to whipping up your favorite slurpie in the NutriBullet to making an egg and some bacon. There are pots, pans, utensils and plates if you decide you want to cook for yourself instead of checking out the local eateries. The picture window in the living room is great for early morning sunrises. If you do yoga first thing or start your day with prayer you’ll appreciate the view and the lack of neighbors. Unit located at top of hill overlooking housing 40 feet below, so no one to peep into your front window. There are three air conditioners in the unit. Each bedroom has a window A/C and there is a wall A/C in the living room/dining room. The kitchen, dining room and the smaller bedroom also have ceiling fans for those in-between days. All the windows open and are screened. Clean recently remodeled kitchen and bathroom. Step-down living room complete with TV, Roku and DVD player. Small desk for working with laptop, high speed WiFi. Printer available also. Electronic locks allow you easy and safe entrance to your unit. There is a washer and dryer in the basement of the building for a small charge. Parking is free and off street. Guests have access to patio with charcoal grill, fire pit and comfortable seating when the weather permits. I live in and own the building. Within walking distance (3 blocks or less): Small shopping center with everything from groceries to breakfast and casual dining to a gas station to Walgreens Drug store, beauty salon, nail salon and Mexican restaurant. Ours is a neighborhood of homes and apartment buildings. We are two blocks south of a main business thorough fare. It is peaceful, quiet and clean area. Sammy's(about a mile west of the building) is great for breakfast, Xando's (three blocks away) has some of the best food around; they make the best Egg/Lemon soup. At the end of our block is the entrance to the Robert Humphrey's Memorial Horseback Riding Trail. It's the beginning of 100 miles of county forest preserve hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Yes, Cook County has an extensive array of trails and one entrance is just down the block. One & 1/2 mile south: Moraine Valley Community College (17,000+ students from all over the world). Within a 15 minute drive: Midway Airport; Christ Hospital; Palos Community Hospital; Trinity College; St. Xavier College; Chicago Ridge Mall; Orland Park Mall; Toyota Park (home of the Chicago Fire soccer team); Burr Ridge Mall; and 1.25 miles East a golf course with 9 and 18 holes. There are all manners of churches from Greek Orthodox to Baptist to Islamic Mosques here also. Want Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Marianno's or Pete's Fresh Market (they all carry organics and world foods)? They are each within 10-20 minutes from the building. Within 30 minute drive: O’Hare Airport; McCormick Place; Soldier Field; Chicago’s Loop; Oak Brook Mall; Yorktown Mall. For visiting Nurses: Christ Hospital, Little Company of Mary and Palos Community Hospital are all within a 15 minute drive of this building. Other major area hospitals, Joliet, Good Sam, etc. are within 30 minutes. Interstate I-55 and the Illinois Tollway I-294 are minutes away. Bus service to all of the area is available one block from building. We enjoy Uber service and Enterprise Car rentals has an office a few miles from our building on 95th Street. This is a non-smoking space. Noise must be kept down after 9:30 pm until 9:00 am as some residents work different shifts. This is definitely not a party house. Dear Guest with a Dog(s) A few details for you to keep in mind while you are here: Pets can be accommodated, but must be cleaned up after. Dogs that bark are not acceptable as there are other residents in the building. We can talk about this when you make your reservation. Your pet must NOT be alone in the apartment unless it is in a cage/kennel. If you did not bring one I have one that is big enough for a Great Dane. Pets left alone can do a great deal of damage when they run loose. Also, if there is an emergency, like a water leak or a fire, we will need immediate access to the unit. I’ve already had one fire emergency with a loose Pit Bull. That was enough, thank you.
