Perched atop a quaint hill, The Treehouse is surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of Sahayadri, offering an epic panorama of the valley of Marayoor. Located 33 Kms away from Munnar, this is the perfect holiday you have been awaiting. There is nothing like a perfect number of days but being a place ideal for slow living, we recommend a minimum of two nights. The space Perched atop Acacia nilotica, regionally known as the Vela tree, Erumadam looks onto the vast expanse of Marayoor valley. Nestled close to the forests, the structure is built consciously using locally sourced materials. The second floor of the structure forms the bedroom. Airy and quaint, the space gives you a feeling of floating in mid air. The bedroom window opens to the east, from where you can witness the sun’s rays peeking over the mountains early in the morning. Crudely shaped wooden stairs lead you down to the first floor balcony from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of your surroundings. Attached to the balcony is a bathroom open to the skies. Modeled after a tropical forest, the washroom often spots a bird or two resting in the shade of Calatheas and Cannas. An intimate seating space, a hammock and bougainvillea await you on the ground level. Full of energy, Erumadam draws you in and fills you with a seamless connection to life around you. Visit us to immerse mindfully with your surroundings and to rest deeply. Guest access Guests have access to the entire Erumadam. The dining and kitchen areas, as well as the garden and garden shed, BBQ and campfire area are shared by all guests. A short 5-minute walk from the property leads to a private viewpoint, offering stunning views of the land. It's a perfect spot to enjoy watching birds, deer, butterflies, and a variety of tiny creatures in all shapes and colors. Parking is available inside the property. Around the property, you can travel with your own private vehicles or make use of cycles available at the property. We can also arrange a cab / rikshaw for your travel needs. Other things to note Kindly note that we are located in a remote village of Munnar, called Marayoor, located 30 Kms away from Munnar town. Tea plantations are 10 Kms away. We are a forest bordered property. Kindly plan your stay with us accordingly. The Mudhouse is a tranquil destination where one can unwind and be one with nature. Listen to the birds singing or at times, in the absolute stillness, the quiet breathing of mother nature. Kindly avoid visiting here if you tend to love loud music and are looking for a party place. Being a sustainable property making use of mostly natural materials, maintenance activities are very much a part and parcel of the experience. If you're lucky, you'd get to witness the changing of thatch or mud polishing and get to converse with the artisans.
