Description
A charming stone built studio - part of a wider building complex dating from 1797. You will have access to the surrounding gardens, terraces and seating areas. The property is located in a traditional Cypriot village nestled into the hill side with views down to the sea (a 20 minute drive). About 45 minute drive from the airport the studio is ideal for walkers, artists, or anyone wanting to escape the hustle of city life. There is a late check-in surcharge of €40 if you arrive after 1830. The space The fully modernised studio is the ground floor of a 2 storey building. It was originally a stone-built barn and the first floor was added earlier last century. The thick stone walls ensure that the studio remains cool in the summer. A fan is also provided to add to your comfort if required. For the winter months there is a gas stove and electric radiators/heaters. The large main room contains a sofa, chairs, table, sideboard, chest of drawers, wardrobes and a large and comfortable double bed. Bed-linen and towels are included. Laundry facilities are available on request in a stand-alone utility room. The kitchenette has modern units, a sink, fridge and very limited cooking facilities (kettle, toaster and a single electric hob). The bathroom has been recently re-furnished with a large glass fronted shower. Hot water is in constant supply. Guests are invited to use the garden where, during the Summer, there are chairs, barbecues and an outside kitchen. An honesty bar is sometimes available. Guest access Guests have their own unique access to the studio. There is a table and chairs on the small patio outside the front door for their exclusive use. The studio is the ground floor of a two-storey building and situated at right angles to the main house which is surrounded by courtyards, gardens and a pergola which guests are invited to share. Opposite the entrance to the studio is a very small gallery space which, from time to time, has exhibitions available to all who visit. The first floor above the studio is used most days by a well known textile artist and member of the London Quilters’ Guild. Guests are invited to view her work. Other things to note In the garden (during the Summer) there is an "honesty bar" with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available for guests. Also during the Summer there is an outdoor kitchen available for use on request.
