Description

Come and relax in our architect-designed house, with its magnificent view, set against the hill and amidst oaks and olive trees. Our family home, very bright, is designed to enjoy the coolness in summer and the sun in winter, fully renovated and insulated (inside and outside) In couples, family with children or groups, you can go hiking or walking or cycling directly from home. The space 1 large living room and kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 1 bedroom for 2 children, 3 bathrooms with toilet and toilet/washbasin, storage room, laundry room. Quality bedding, linens and towels provided (foutas for the outdoors in summer) You will enjoy the calm with different terraces, covered or not, at each of the 3 half levels hugging the hill, to enjoy the sun or shade depending on the time of day and a secure swimming pool for the summer. With its different levels and on the hillside, the house is unfortunately not suitable for people with disabilities. The house is equipped with fiber optics Our house has been completely renovated. We took the decision to insulate it strongly against cold and heat and not to install air conditioning. Cellulose wadding in the roof (60 cm), exterior and interior insulation, quality frames, shutters (some with half-opening hooks or adjustable slats) and for the summer shade sails... Several windows per room to enjoy the sun or protect yourself from it depending on the season while enjoying natural light. This requires applying the good ideas of the old Provençals: In SUMMER: You have an indoor thermometer on the shelf at the entrance to the kitchen and an outdoor one on the trunk of the pine tree in front of the living room. Preferably, leave all interior doors open to circulate air in the EVENING: as soon as the outside temperature is cooler than inside, open the windows and shutters wide, especially the upper floors to circulate the air. It is sometimes preferable to open first to the north and east and later to the south and west, which benefited from the sun later. Depending on the outside temperature, you may only be able to open the shutters at night. NIGHT: leave the windows open, or even the shutters up (otherwise there is a risk of mice coming in: it's the countryside!). Think about the laundry room. The shutters are mostly intended to remain partially open or open and protected IN SUMMER IN THE MORNING: as soon as the sun hits a window, close the shutter AND the window (in particular the VELUX shutter of the roof window in the kitchen). A closed curtain does not prevent the sun from heating a window. As soon as the outside temperature exceeds that of the accommodation, close all windows DURING THE DAY: leave doors, windows closed, as well as shutters for windows with the sun on them. Limit the use of the oven as much as possible and enjoy the outdoor grill in all cases circulate the air between the different rooms by leaving the interior doors open (including the cellar) There are windows at the 4 cardinal points so the possibility of always having open shutters without sun on them. We live in semi-darkness and this brings the "Provencal holiday" touch IN WINTER you can enjoy the lower sun that illuminates and heats many rooms The house is equipped with solar panels. As a result, we try to use solar energy during the day (washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, electric car charging...) WATER RESOURCES: We enjoy a large swimming pool and try to pay attention to our other uses of water. The water inlet flow is limited and our taps are equipped with foaming nozzles as well as economical shower heads. The house is in a protected environment: we use household products in accordance with the septic tank and respectful of the environment and pay attention to water consumption. Remember to wash vegetables in the outdoor sink to allow the plants to benefit from this water. We sort the waste (deposit places in the welcome booklet) and feed a compost with the plant waste. We greatly appreciate our home and its environment and hope to make you appreciate them too Guest access The house is entirely at your disposal as well as the outdoor facilities and the property (terraces with many tables and chairs, deckchairs and sun loungers, bowling game...) You will access our house without neighbors at the end of a private road. We leave at your disposal many books during your stay. We ask that you leave them upon checkout. Other things to note Guests can enjoy the many sports activities, heritage discoveries or simply relax while admiring the view. Michèle, our very discreet and reliable housekeeper, will come 2 hours a week to help with the maintenance of the house, unless you prefer that she not intervene. This service is included in the rate. We can put you in touch with her if you want her to work longer, depending on her availability Please feel free to ask any questions before you arrive so that we can help you best organize your stay.
