Bicentennial mill-VV no. 1237 AS
Description
Experience nature in a unique accommodation!! Surrounded by nature and on the banks of the river, this water mill was used in the last century to grind corn. It is a home with modern amenities but without giving up the rustic atmosphere of the time. The tranquility, its different terraces always overlooking the river and its natural surroundings become perfect allies for an ideal rest. The routes and hiking, together with the local gastronomy will make for an unforgettable stay. The space The mill is over 200 years old. It is a protected building and declared a site of cultural interest. Because of this, its original structure cannot be modified. Its walls are made of stone carved by local artisans, leaving part of its original pieces as decorative elements on the façade. The structural wooden elements are made of native chestnut. It also retains the small windows of the mills of the last century. Guest access The mill is an accommodation with a lot of privacy and intimacy, since it does not border any other property, it consists of three floors and a very large covered back terrace overlooking a side garden. The mill is accessed by the middle floor where the kitchen and living room are, upstairs the attic and one floor below the bathroom, the property is equipped with a double bed (135cm), although we also have an extra bed (80cm) if requested. The living room also leads to the covered back terrace, equipped with a sofa, tables, chairs, and a garden overlooking the river. For car parking there is space at the beginning of the path that leads to the mill (approximately 20 meters from the house) Also keep in mind that if you bring small children, warn them that there are stairs and a fireplace in the place and care must be taken to avoid possible accidents. Other things to note In the house we have towels, bedding, everything you need for cooking, basic things like tea bags, salt, sugar, oil, vinegar, and some spices. In the village there are two restaurants but there are NO supermarkets so we have left customers a folder with the schedules of the street vendors that supply the village, as well as phone numbers of interest and activity info. We advise guests to shop in advance (in Cangas de Onis you can find supermarkets and various shops, it is 28km from the village). In Sobrefoz you can only buy basic things in one of the bars and the rest through bakers, fruit sellers, fishmongers, etc. Due to its location, there may be insects, rodents, etc. at some point.
