A taste of real Spain

Description

The house is located in a traditional white mountain village, approximately 250m above sea level & has stunning mountain views. The village has several grocery stores, butchers, fish mongers & cafes. One of the local cafes offers a 'menu del dia' during the day, which consists of a 3 course meal & a salad for €10. Almachar is the raisin capital of Andalucia, & they produce their own local wine. It is also the starting point for several walks in the area, & is a popular location for cyclists. The space We have several cats, if you do not like cats, this is not the place for you. We have a spacious, private, double en-suite bedroom available to rent in our home. You will have your own fridge and coffee maker, but the kitchen is not available to guests. The house was recently renovated in 2019. Guests are able to enjoy a snack on the terrace, or a glass of wine on the roof terrace looking out at La Maroma mountain. We have a spacious landing area with a sofa where guests can relax, have a coffee or read a book. After the hot summer of 2023 we decided to invest in air conditioning in the bedroom which guests can now enjoy. It also serves as heating in the winter months. Please note that, like most homes in the south of Spain, we do not have central heating, so the house can be cold in the winter, but the air conditioning in the bedroom can be used as much as needed for heating the room. Guest access Guests will rent a private en-suite bedroom in our home. There is a shared landing area available to guests with a sofa and their own fridge. There is a roof terrace and front patio where guests can sit and relax. We can do laundry by request. The kitchen is not available to guests, but please ask if you have any kitchen requirements. During your stay Julian and I will be available to guests in the morning, and we will be happy to answer any questions and give local information. Other things to note As per Spanish law we will ask all guests for proof of identity on arrival. The house is located in a traditional white village, approximately 250 m above sea level and has stunning mountain views. We are a 25 minute drive away from the closest beach. It is not possible to park outside the house as the house is located on a narrow street. We will meet guests at the parking area and help with bags and cases. Visiting without a car is more difficult. There are a few buses a day to the coast and back (please see photos), but there are no buses on Sundays. The village has a pharmacy, several grocery stores, butchers, fish mongers and cafes/bars. Breakfast is available in the local cafes/bars for a very reasonable price. One of the local cafes offers a 'menu del dia' at lunch time, which consists of a 3 course meal and a salad for only €10. Almachar is the raisin capital of Andalucia, and produces its own local wine. It is also the starting point for several walks in the area, and is a popular location for cyclists. During the summer months (mid June to early September) there is a municipal outdoor pool open to the public (for a small fee), every afternoon, within walking from the house.
