Welcome to Sun Wind Beach Kalpitiya- an authentic local family run business! Our comfortable, traditionally designed cabanas are set just ten metres from the shore of gorgeous Kalpitiya Lagoon . Free breakfast, local transport to key kite surfing spot (boat) and use of beach huts included. We are the first local kite surfers in Kalpitiya and offer kiting lessons, dolphin watching, island hopping and kiting tours to Vella and Mannar Islands. Experience Kalpitiya through local eyes! The space The comfortable cabana is a traditional design from locally sourced materials. It comes with an ensuite ( including a shell shower), double bed, mosquito net, fan, chill out verandah and hammock. There are unique artworks on the walls by a local artist. The cabana has been individually designed incorporating traditional building techniques and locally sourced materials. The cabana has been constructed out of palmyra wood and designed with unique panel detailing and coconut thatching. Natural and sustainable! All structures on site have been made by our family out of natural materials. Our garden of tranquility is full of tropical trees, plants and installation artworks made out of found and natural materials. Guests have access to our on-site restaurant serving delicious seafood, vegetable dishes and fresh juices. We have 2 chillout areas- one at the resteraunt and a seperate elevated chillout amongst the palm trees with glimpses of the lagoon-perfect for yoga! Keeping the natural vibe, our bean bags are made out of rice sacks and stuffed with coconut coir. We have a small boat permanently anchored to the lagoon shore where you can have a drink and watch the most amazing sunsets. Guests also have exclusive access to beach huts on Kalpitiya Lagoon and Vella Island- key kite surfing spots. Guest access Guests have access to the on site resteraunt/ chill out space, small boat ( permanently anchored on the lagoon) to watch sunsets, and exclusive use of beach huts in Kalpitiya lagoon and Vella Island. Other things to note Breakfast is included free of charge. If you would like lunch or dinner, please let us know in the morning so we can ensure the freshest seafood possible. Our dinners are renown! On our rotating menu we serve fresh crabs, prawns, calamari, fish, curries, vegetables, rice dishes and Sat bbqs. Daily boat ride to key kite surfing spot on the lagoon is included free of charge.
