CUTE PRIVATE SUITE, 2 bds, pvt bthrm, own entrance

This private, cozy guest suite attached at the back of our home is like a cabin, with its own entrance. It has a new king bed & single bed, and a private bathroom. Convenient to ALL areas including Decatur, Emory, Midtown, Downtown, Oakhurst, +. Has a fridge, freezer, coffee, kettle, internet, TV with ROKU. Well-behaved, non-barking pets are welcome w/ fee. Come and go as you please and ask us for anything! My hubs and I are writer-artists with a young son. No parties or loud noise past 10pm. The space Your cozy Forrest Hills suite in the back of our home is a wonderful artistic oasis with all the comforts of home. With a cabin-like feel, it even has a working gas fireplace. Our home was built in the 50's and has a lot of charming character. It is clean and comfortable, with a brand new bathroom! The private, one-room suite was added on to the back of our home (where we live) and it's slightly larger than the average hotel room. The door leading to the rest of the house is locked from both sides. We are Airbnb users ourselves so we know the deal, and will be helpful in whatever way you need, but will respect your privacy. Your room has a small fridge with a mid-sized freezer, microwave, tea & electric kettle, egg steamer, electric skillet, and coffee maker. The room has a new queen bed and a single bed under it. You have your own private entrance and your own bathroom (no tub, only shower--all new). There is a closet with hangers and some drawer space. The room is colorful with deep rich tones and lots of wood. It has a working gas fireplace to make it extra cozy in the winter. We have extra blankets, a space heater and/or a fan if you need those them. Your Forrest Hills bungalow will be clean and fresh for you with all the comforts of home. From a blow dryer and iron, to electric blankets and fans - most of what you will need it is already there. But please just ask if you need something specific or if you forgot something, or even if you don't want to travel with extra items. There are large stores in walking distance. The bathroom and entrance are private. Enjoy the back deck and our great backyard. For now, please pardon our progress in the backyard and sides of the house--we are in the midst of some improvements. But this will not affect your cozy space at all. There is a TV with local stations (antenna-based) and a ROKU streaming device. We are within walking distance of several large grocery/convenience stores, two parks, a lake with ducks, and 5 minutes from eateries, bars, and the famous Dekalb International Farmers Market - and if you are a foodie you must visit this place while you are here. The house is 3-5 minute drive to Downtown Decatur and 6 or so miles (15 minutes) to Downtown Atlanta. It is conveniently located to Emory, Virginia Highlands, Kirkwood, Oakhurst, East Atlanta, Old 4th Ward, Inman Park, Tucker, Avondale, Stone Mountain, Midtown and Downtown (I'm sure I left some out). You can walk to Avondale or Decatur in about 30 minutes. There is a Marta bus stop less than a block away on Columbia Drive where you can catch the 114 bus that takes you to the Avondale train station. From there you can get just about anywhere in the city! Also, we are generally pet-free but will consider quiet (meaning they don't bark when you leave) and well-behaved pets that don't shed too much. We welcome children of any age. The room is not necessarily "child proof" but it is kid-friendly, with stuffed animals and books. The room is ideal for one or two adults. Two adults in the king bed and one child in the single bed work well. But more than 3 can get kind of crowded. We live in the house that the suite is connected to so no parties or noisy carousing past 10 pm. But it's very private back there, with fans and sound machines. We generally don't hear people and they don't hear us. Feel free to ask us for anything. Guest access Please just BEFORE the driveway, not in front of the mailbox. We prefer to pass off the key in person, so please text me when you are 30 minutes out, and when you arrive - just to make sure one of us is home to show you to the space and hand off the key. The rest of the house is not accessible. Feel free to enjoy the backyard, just pick up after yourselves AND your pet. And note that we are in the midst of some improvements on the other side of the house, which means our yard is not as perfect as we'd like it right now. But it's still great so enjoy the deck! Other things to note -The WIFI account is written down in the room. -The windows do not open. Please don't try to open them. :) -Please open our accordion doors leading to the fridge and closets very gently. They are new but have been repeatedly pulled off the tracks because people try to open them too hard, like regular doors. -We have central heat and air, and we control it from our part of the house, so please ask us if you need it cooler or warmer. It's not a problem. There are several fans, heaters, electric blankets, and a gas fireplace if you want them. It stays comfortable back there. -If you break something, no problem, but please replace it or let us know. -Please clean up after your kids and pets. No messy eating or crafts (no glitter, please). -Leave sheets and towels in a pile in the basket provided. -Please leave a key under the mat when you leave, and let us know when you are out.
