Escape to Green Mountain beauty and solitude while remaining close to amenities in our historic, updated cabin. The cabin is located on a dead end road with spectacular night skies. The kitchen and appliances are small but everything you need is available and handy. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and baking. It sleeps 4 in a double bed and 2 singles, plus there is a double futon in the living room, if your group is cozy. You will love this ideal location for yourself or a group! Trade the noise, traffic, work, and your hectic daily life for peace, quiet, mountain views, and fresh air -- perfect for artists, writers or outdoor enthusiasts. This adorable cabin has a living/dining room with complete, small scale kitchen. Wood paneling and cabinets make the cabin feel welcoming and cozy. It is 18' x 40' with a deck that is 10' x 20'. It was totally remodeled in 2006, updating this 1940's charmer. The fully equipped kitchen has an apartment-sized refrigerator and stove, microwave, and coffee maker. The cabin has two bedrooms with a double bed, two singles, and a double futon in the living room. The bathroom has shower. Wood stove is operable in case of chilly evenings. All linens, dishes, and cookware are provided, including a fire pit and barbecue grill. The classic Vermont village with post office and lake with a small beach are within walking distance. Concerts, historical museums, and community dinners all combine to make it the best of a living Norman Rockwell illustration. Excellent access to mountain resorts -- Okemo, Killington, Pico one way; Stratton and Bromley the other for the hikers, bikers, and golfers. Weston, Rutland, Ludlow, Manchester, Queechee and Woodstock are nearby for the shoppers, concert goers and theater enthusiasts. Trails for hikers and riders and huge night-time skies are just outside the door. Turkeys (not bred for eating, alas), deer, birds, and an occasional bear may appear but renting the house does not include a guaranteed sighting of any wildlife. It is a great place to unwind and relax. Views! all around and always a breeze to soothe the soul. Your children and dog (with approval) are welcome to come and run free on 27 acres of woods and meadows. Rent by the week or longer to really unwind. Children and dogs just get out of the car and run!!! They can be truly free for the duration of your stay. Other things to note As available, herbs and extra garden produce and fruits are provided. A limited amount of firewood for the stove and outdoor fire pit are included.
