Spanish Revival Home with a View

This is true country living in the city! My home is secluded in a quiet canyon on a private road with only 3 other houses. Yet, with just a 3 minute walk up the road you can experience the vibrancy of International Restaurant Row. The space This home has welcomed many happy travelers over the years. I am experienced in making people feel at home away from home during domestic and international house exchanges and rentals. The house is country living in the city. Although you can see the airport from my house, there is almost no noise. We are not in the flight path. (If the wind shifts to onshore in the morning, you can hear planes taking off at a distance. This is rarely happens.) It is tucked away in a eucalyptus canyon but within a 5 minute walk to two blocks of outrageous ethnic restaurants, and a few moments drive from the freeway entrance in the center of San Diego. Free parking for one vehicle, washer/dyer, cable tv, and wifi are all included. This is a charming 95 year old Spanish revival home with a basement rental unit below with a private entrance. There can be shared house noise due to the age and wooden construction. Over the many years as a landlord, I have had very few complaints from the downstairs residents. However, reasonable behavior helps. Children are encouraged to leave their running for outside and asked to play the piano during normal waking hours, and the like. The upstairs home has one queen bedroom and one CalKing bedroom separated by a study that has adjoining doors to each bedroom. There is a click-clack-type couch in the study that can be opened for additional sleeping space. This bed is really only comfortable for children. This middle room has no windows and is most comfortable with at least one door left open for ventilation. I have recently added a self-inflating twin air mattress for those adults who might wish to make use of the study area as a bedroom. As mentioned previously, the third bedroom is best for families with small children who wish to have adjoining rooms. If you are looking for a third bedroom with privacy, I am afraid this is not for you. You will also find a thriving succulent garden with a fountain in the front yard and an expansive shared deck with a BBQ and full view of the bay and airport. The home is cooled with fans and by opening the windows to enjoy the gentle breezes. We do not live in a part of town that needs air conditioning. Most tourist attractions...beach, Sea World, Balboa Park, Gaslamp District are a 10 minute drive away. It is also a 10 minute walk to the public trolley system. You cannot get better neighbors. They will help out when called upon or leave you to your privacy. I can provide fold up futons and bedding for any extra guest. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside. (For those of you who may have searched this before and wonder...This listing used to come with my older cat in residence. Muffin was 19 years old when she moved on to cat heaven. There are currently no animals in residence.) If you are looking for accommodations not listed on my calendar, please contact me. I have many opportunities to travel frequently and may be able to arrange a time away. We reside in the home when we find ourselves in San Diego, so you will find our personal items in cupboards, closets and drawers etc. For this reason, we have designated drawers and hanging areas for the comfort of guests. ***I just looked at the 360 degree photos that Airbnb attached to my listing. Guest access Guests may access the lush front succulent garden and outdoor dining area, the rooftop deck and BBQ area and the washer and dryer. Other things to note I am happy to share cuttings from my succulent plants with you to take home and start your own succulent garden!
