Plenty of privacy and a garden to enjoy. Friendly hosts live onsite. The space The rooms have a separate entrance which is easily accessed from the gently sloping driveway. There are 2 separate bedrooms, a sofa bed in the spacious living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchenette for food preparation. Sink, fridge freezer, microwave, mini grill oven, gas hob with BBQ grill plate is located outside under a sheltered veranda/ patio. As the property is not within walking distance of any shops or regular bus services you will need to have a motor vehicle. Christchurch Airport is an easy 35 - 45 minute drive away. This is a great place for a New Zealand holiday, with both the city of Christchurch and Banks Peninsula easily accessible. A choice of great cafes, restaurants, bars and shops in nearby Lyttelton. There is so much to do in this area; catch the Black Cat Ferry to Quail Island or Diamond Harbour, walk the local tracks, swim in the sea, ride the Gondola, visit the bike park, wander through Ohinetahe Gardens or call in for a beer at the Governors Bay Pub. These attractions are less than a 15 minute drive from the house. Nestled in a small valley, Cass Bay has it's own micro climate with very little easterly breeze, which is the prevailing summer wind in Christchurch and the Canterbury plains. Landscaped gardens have been 21 years in the making and are a fusion of tropical exotics and New Zealand native plants. Native birds flit about and sing sweetly in the garden. It is a 7 minute car journey to Lyttelton where there is a small but well stocked supermarket. Via the Lyttelton Tunnel it takes 15 minutes to get to the nearest major shopping area at Ferrymead. Lyttelton Farmers Market is every Saturday from 9.30am - 1pm. Great food, crafts and live music. Free parking in the Te Ana Marina, then a 10 minute walk up to the market in London street.
