Stunning Waterfront Muskoka Cottage

A modern west-facing cottage on the Moon River right in the quaint village of Bala. The very private 1-acre property sits at the end of a peninsula with water on three sides, and 600 ft of waterfront. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the dock or hot tub, make 'Smores' around the campfire (see note below), grill your dinner on the gas barbecue. Kids love the small sand beach. The 4800 sq ft cottage is on town water & sewer, and also features a very private bunkie with it's own bathroom and shower. The space It has often been said that this property has the best views on the historic Moon River, a cottage country favourite destination for more than 100 years. Although it is a river, two dams downstream about 10 km mean it is much more like a lake, and the bay in front of our cottage is very calm. The cottage itself has a very large kitchen with an island, completely renovated in 2025, with two ovens, two dishwashers and two microwaves, and an induction cooktop. You can choose from four dining areas: the breakfast nook and/or island bar in the kitchen, the dining room itself, outdoor waterside dining area just off the kitchen, and a "Muskoka Room", a screened in dining area which seats 12 and is handy if the mosquitoes are biting. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property. Other things to note Please note that we supply three kayaks with adult life jackets and paddles. No other boats or canoes are provided, but are available for rent in town. If you plan to have campfires, there may be firewood at the cottage but this is not guaranteed. You may need to purchase your own firewood. It is available at the Freshmart (grocery store) in town but will be cheaper if you buy it somewhere to the south. Some summers there are temporary fire bans, so before you buy wood make sure there isn't a fire ban in effect. You can call the township to get up to date information. Important: Daytime fires are not allowed.
