Description

We live on a 30 acre homestead in southern Vermont. We currently have 15 chickens, a border collie (Stevie), 2 cats, currently 6 goats, a brick pizza oven, gardens, the best star gazing you can find, and a beautiful view. Watch and listen to the birds, gaze at the stars, hang out with Stevie, or explore Southern Vermont. We live and work on the property. Our campsite allows a max of 4 people and parking for two cars. The space A great camping experience in Southern Vermont! Secluded and quiet, we provide you a campsite with your own outhouse, a lean-to shelter, two fire pits, Adirondack camping chairs, and two hammocks. You will be able to see our house from afar, but far away enough to feel like you’re alone. We’re the only house on our dirt road so all you will hear are peepers, birds and goats. The star gazing is some of the best you can find (weather permitting). We have a beautiful pond right next to the campsite that offers an awesome view. We make homemade pizza shells in our outdoor brick pizza oven and then top them with our homemade tomato/pesto sauce, local cheese and basil from the farm for our campers with advance notice (subject to availability). If you love animals and being outdoors, then this is the place for you! We have two extremely friendly dogs (2 years old and 12 years old) who may come visit your site to say hi and try to get a chest or belly scratch. Most enjoy this, but if it concerns you, then we might not be the right place for you. They also may bark and come to your door on arrival, but it's just their way of announcing to the farm that you have arrived. There is no running water at the site but we provide you with a clean 5 gallon jug with spigot filled with fresh water from the well. You can use to this to drink from, wash hands, and use to cook. This can be re-filled up at our house if needed. We are also in the process of making an Art Trail around the property - explore the woods and find beautiful prints on trees! Guest access You have plenty of space surrounding your site to relax and enjoy. We will respect your privacy during your stay. We also ask that you respect ours. Our house, surrounding gardens, greenhouses, and front lawn are private and not for guest use. Other things to note Firewood, kindling, and matches are available at your site. Firewood bundles are $5 each. We can provide a tent upon request. Our 6 person tent (sleeps 4 comfortably) is available for rent. Our site is not vehicle accessible. We do provide a cart for you to carry your things down to the campsite (about 200 feet away down a slight downward slope). Campers are encouraged to bring good clothing and footwear to protect them from the elements (mosquitos, ticks, the sun, etc.) Please do not leave food out after bedtime as not to attract bears. Service is limited in southern Vermont. Please plug address into gps before entering Townshend. You can use our WiFi when on the property. Pets are not allowed on the property. Sorry! Regarding infants and children: because of risks involved with open water, farm machinery, wildlife, pets, etc we say that our campsite is not suitable for them. Although, we have had many children and infants camp with us. Reach out to us if your children enjoy dogs, etc and we can talk more.
