Tyncornel is a great little hostel in splendid Cambrian mountain scenery, at the head of the beautiful Doethie valley. There is excellent walking and cycling right from the front door: green rolling mountains, narrow twisting valleys that provide an ever-changing view . You may walk all day without meeting anyone. The hostel has plenty of character. It's the most isolated hostel in Wales, and it provides a simple but comfortable welcome - see the photos! The space This listing books a private room for up to 4 people. This room has 8 beds, but the booking is only for up to 4 people. Other listings book the whole hostel, or places in a shared dormitory. There's no phone, TV, internet, or mobile signal, but you won't need them - you're here to enjoy the hostel in its beautiful surroundings. Come and get away from it all! The hostel is owned and run by Elenydd Wilderness Hostels, a charitable trust staffed entirely by volunteers. Guest access Shared indoor areas: common room (plenty of books, magazines, and games), self-cooking kitchen, electric shower, separate male/female washrooms and toilets. Outside: south-facing terrace with picnic benches, garden with camping space, parking. Other things to note Bedding is provided: each guest is given a laundered sheet sleeping bag to use with the duvets and pillows. No telephone, WiFi, or mobile signal on-site. This is an opportunity to get away from all that! Mobile signal is available at a hilltop 1 mile along the hostel track. No pets allowed.
