The Parlour, for Alton Towers and The Peaks

The Parlour is a cosy Shepherd's Hut for two looking out onto the Churnet Valley in Staffordshire. Set in eleven acres of organic farmland, there are walks and cycle paths on your doorstep. If adrenalin is what you seek then despite our peaceful location, we are a only a couple of miles from Alton Towers. The market town of Ashbourne, the gateway to the Peak District, is twenty minutes away. Our Swedish wood-fired hot tub is available to book separately during your stay. Further details below. The space Welcome to Greenacres! We're Tessa and David, and we live in our family's farmhouse set in the middle of 11 acres of organic pasture on the edge of the small country village of Denstone, Staffordshire. The land has been farmed for centuries, and Tessa's family has been here since the middle of the 19th century. We are 10 minutes from Alton Towers, close to Ashbourne and the Peak District, and a short walk from the centre of the village. Guest access You'll have the Parlour, together with the lawn that it stands in and the fields around the property which give you access to the Staffordshire Way footpath and the old railway line walk along the Churnet Valley. The fields are home to a wide variety of birds and other wildlfe, and many wild flowers. The gardens are planted with fruit trees including plum, apple, damson and quince. Other things to note We are close to Alton Towers, in the next village, and about twenty minutes from the town of Ashbourne, gateway to the Peak District. We live at the property where the shepherds hut is set so we are onsite if you need any local recommendations or run out of something vital! A new addition at Greenacres - our wood-fired hot tub is available to book separately during your stay. We set the hot-tub up for guests and provide towels and fluffy robes and logs, kindling etc for you to light the hot-tub and heat the water. Once the fire is lit, it takes 2-3 hours for the water to get lovely and hot. For guests reserving the hot-tub for a single night, the price is £50.
