Denholm, 2¾ miles, has a couple of pubs and a local shop, with more facilities including a leisure centre and good museums in Hawick. Visit Melrose and Kelso for interesting boutique shopping, galleries and coffee shops, and of course their historic abbeys, while St Mary’s House and the abbey in Jedburgh should not be missed.
