Description

A luxurious one bedroom holiday let with modern facilities and loads of old world charm in St Kew. Close to Port Isaac, Padstow and surrounding beautiful Poldark countryside - the Old Dairy also has easy access to wonderful beaches, great country pubs, cycle trails and stunning cliff top walks - and ideally placed for exploring the rest of Cornwall. With a really comfortable king size bed, luxurious shower and modern kitchen there is everything you need for a relaxing stay. The space The barns are part of an old Grade II Cornish Longhouse with slate and wood floors and old beams exposed to the rafters. The kitchen and bathroom are very modern and there is plenty of space to relax on luxurious leather sofas with Freesat TV and WiFi. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside in a tranquil setting but you will need a car to get out an about to explore. Guest access There is a small private courtyard garden leading off the bedroom which is also an excellent sun-trap. Guests are also very welcome to use our garden and to wander down to the woods at the bottom. Here we have a tree house where you can sit and watch the sunset with a glass of wine overlooking the views out over the fields towards the coast. We do have a large but very friendly labrador who loves to meet everyone and is more than happy to share his garden with four legged friends. Other things to note The Old Dairy is part of an old Cornish longhouse and we are on hand next door if needed but otherwise the accommodation offers privacy and tranquility for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We are situated in open countryside just outside the village of St Kew, surrounded by open fields. In the village we are lucky to have a fantastic pub serving lovely fresh local food of excellent quality plus loads of other great pubs and restaurants close by. Wadebridge, our local town is 5 minutes away and has a wide variety of privately owned shops so great for something new and individual. There are several supermarkets in the town plus we have a local, well stocked Spar in St Kew Highway. There are many beaches and coves to visit for walking and swimming. Surfing and body-boarding at Polzeath are exhilaration plus the Camel Trail is an 18-mile flat disused railway track now used for cyclists to visit Padstow at one end and get up on to the moor at St Breward at the other end. Following the Camel river it is a lovely cycle route and conveniently provides stopping places like Camel Valley Vineyard, tea rooms and the excellent Snail's Pace cafe to name just a few. The South West coast path offers wonderful walking with amazing views round every bend. We are situated on the road into the village so you may hear some tractors rumbling by and some local traffic along with the cows having a morning moo but mainly it is tranquil and calm. A car is a necessity as there aren't any walks from the property but there is so much to do within a 10-15 minute radius, you'll be spoilt for choice.
