Built in 1952, the home was significantly extended in the 1960’s and this heritage has not been lost in the substantial rebuilding of the property. Taking inspiration from mid-century modern design, this home will appeal to anyone with a sense of retro style and fun. You'll be thrilled with what's behind our bright yellow door. The house boasts a large open-plan living area with plenty of space for eight people to kick back and relax in comfort and style. There’s a beautiful modern kitchen, multiple living and dining areas and a large balcony overlooking the river. Watch the numerous boats and ships make their way up and down the Derwent. If you're lucky, you may even spot a pod of dolphins or Sammy the Seal may pay you a visit. At "Marana" you will be spoilt for choice for spaces to relax and dine. The main living area has a comfortable lounge and a large Smart TV with Netflix. There are two other lounge areas - one off the kitchen and the other we call "the reading room." Both are perfect for sitting with a glass of wine or a cup of tea and enjoying the view. Our guests say the photos can't fully capture the amazing setting. It's truly magical. There are three areas to dine – an eight seater dining room table; a stylish breakfast bar or an eight seater outdoor table on the balcony. Large sliding doors and windows open up the entire space, so you can fully enjoy this beautiful setting. The home is NBN connected with high speed wireless internet. Your accommodation consists of four beautiful bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king size bed, walk-in robe, Smart TV and ensuite. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and built-in wardrobe. Bedroom 3 has a queen size bed and a built-in wardrobe. Bedroom 4 has two single beds and a built-in wardrobe. There are two bathrooms plus a separate toilet. The black and white tiled ensuite to the main bedroom has a shower, basin, toilet and ample storage. The main bathroom is a funky refurbished black and pink bathroom with a bath, separate shower and basin. There is also a separate toilet. There is a fully equipped laundry with washing machine, dryer and trough. There is also an outside drying line. There’s driveway parking and ample street parking. Rose Bay is a quiet neighbourhood on the eastern shore. It boasts dramatic views of the Derwent River, Tasman Bridge and Mt Wellington. It’s a 15 minute drive from Hobart International Airport. Rose Bay is convenient to many services and attractions, the house is an easy ten minute drive to the city centre - just over 4 km away. A foreshore reserve with a path runs along the river’s edge. It is a flat 30 minute walk to reach Lindisfarne. Here you will find a supermarket, coffee shops, bakeries and a bottle shop. If you walk the other way for 10 minutes, then you reach the start of the dramatic Tasman Bridge. "Marana" is truly special and we know you'll enjoy your stay. Guest access The 4 bedrooms, living, kitchen and dining areas are all in the upstairs part of the house. Downstairs is used only for storage and access to the river foreshore. Other things to note The house is not fenced so the property is not suitable for pets. Children must be closely supervised as the river is easily accessible. It is fast flowing and cold.
