Description

High Bridge End cottage is an attractive stone built Lakeland property, set in the heart of the Duddon Valley. Situated directly on the banks of the picturesque River Duddon, surrounded by the National Park Southern Fells. The cottage has been renovated with views in mind, the lounge being on the first floor with vaulted ceiling, picture windows and cosy log burner. Stylish kitchen, traditional shower room, spacious utility area and private parking for two cars. The space High Bridge End dates back to 1815, belonging to the same family until 2020. The property has changed over the years, having been split into two cottages and renovated to a high standard. Benefitting from a combi boiler which provides unlimited hot water on demand and central heating, including underfloor heating in the bedrooms. The lounge has a cosy log burner ready to light with extra logs and kindling. A three seater leather sofa and chair, 65 inch LG smart TV, superfast fibre broadband and an Alexa for all of your music requests! There is a dining room table and a relaxing Sherlock chair, great for reading or just taking in the mountain views. Kitchen is well equipped with double oven, induction hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and double USB charging socket. Finished with a quartz worktop and locally quarried stone floor. Spacious traditional shower room has subtle LED lighting. Shaving mirror, towels and toiletries are provided. There are two double bedrooms, one king size and one super king which splits into twin beds. Chest of drawers, hanging space and full length mirror. Large utility area with corner sofa and table. Dryer, recycling containers and plenty of room for bike storage. Outside the secure rear garden has a summer house with mountain views, great for star gazing. A decorative slated area with table and chairs, BBQ and sun loungers also available. To the front alongside the river wall are two generous parking spaces by the log store. You also have private access to the river via the stone steps. Guest access Using the key safe box, access to the cottage is via the last door along, just before the garage doors. A door from the kitchen leads out to the rear garden. Other things to note The nearest local shops are in Broughton which is six miles away. Therefore you may prefer to stop en route at Booths or M & S food hall in Ulverston. The local pub (Newfield Inn) can supply some basic provisions.
