The Widow Avery House is a historic Georgian Federal located within two blocks of downtown Hallowell. There is a spacious bedroom with two twin beds and desk with desktop computer available for use, a sitting area with couch and large roku TV, dining area with fridge, microwave, toaster oven and keurig with complimentary coffee and private bathroom with shower. During the season complimentary bikes and kayaks are available. If the guest has a service dog, the pet deposit is $1500. Space 1 has two twin beds and one LL Bean cot available for use. There are no kitchen privileges but the space has a kitchenette with dining area, fridge, microwave, toasteroven, toaster, keurig and blender. There is also a large TV, couch and private full bathroom. The common doors are not locked. You can lock the bedroom but you cannot lock up entire space when away. We live in another part of the house and readily available to answer any questions. The Widow Avery House is just two blocks from downtown Hallowell, which is nicknamed the "New Orleans on the Kennebec." The city is a center for the arts in central Maine, with renowned art galleries, performing arts theaters, studios, festivals and local artists. Hallowell is also home to renowned bars, taverns and restaurants with the downtown area having a high concentration of eating and drinking establishments. Everything is in close proximity. Walking is the best way to get around. Sauna, hot tub and gym are available at another location around the corner.
