You will spend your holidays in an authentic "white" village of the wonderful province of Andalucia - with the beaches around the corner (15 minutes by car) the capital Malaga (40 minutes by car) with so many impressive galleries and last but not least: Picasso's museum. He - after all- grew up in Malaga and all his life FELT a son of Andalusia. This "artsy" village house (sleep THREE ) is located in the very heart of Canillas de Aceituno - a typical Andalusian "white" village. You wish to relax from stress - THIS is the place. You wish to eat the famous "tapas" of Andalucia. Simply walk 90 seconds in this quaint village and you find yourself on the main square with people enjoying a warm summer evening. And just in case you don't feel like cooking - do sit down and try some of the delicious "tapas Andalusian style" at. Bar Picata ( normally called Miguel's bar) My recommendation: Calamari grilled with a lots and lots of garlic! You will never forget them.... I do admit: I am getting carried away as I fell in love with this wonderful village and I felt that it was a dream come true to create this unusual artist's home. I started to design the house as a peaceful retreat where the artist could be creative - far, far away from hustle and stress. After all: She felt comfortable and protected in this village house. My goal was achieved. BUT, lets forget my infatuation for this beautiful village, lets also forget the past and lets talk about Facts & Figures: This pretty home is compact and boasts all the needs of a modern home. 2 bedrooms with lots of space for 3 people. Flowers adorn the windowsills. The tip and tilt windows are double glazed, to keep the interior cool in summer and contain the warmth of the log burner in Winter. (Logs are available in the village.) THAT means: Christmas, New Years eve or the chilly evenings in January and February are cosy times because of the woodburner. Modern times, yes: Underfloor heating is installed, but will be charged on consumption, this makes the home even cozier in winter. More facts & figures: Wooden floors throughout. Excellent Hi speed Wi fi broadband download and British television is available. The kitchen contains a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, eye level oven and large fridge. The artists paintings are omnipresent and make this home a very, very special "adventure"! An asset for warm summer evenings: There's an outside contained small dining area where an evening glass of wine can be enjoyed. Parking is very close and convenient and is free. The village has banks, auto tellers, supermarkets, pharmacy, fresh fish market, health center, and a post office. There is Friday morning market in the Square selling fresh fruit and vegetables. Many restaurants and tapas bars are always open every day. A very large Municipal swimming pool within walking distance overlooking the valley below with a summer restaurant always cold beers and tapas etc. The village Canillas de Aceituno is located on the border of the Sierra Tejada Nature Reserve. When hiking in the Park you will find waterfalls, picnic areas and an abundance of wildlife. The broad sandy beach at Torre del Mar is a 20 minute drive away., where the promenade seems to stretch forever with the most beautiful gardens alongside the beach. If you enjoy cycling ?
