Roveglio - a rural alpine retreat on Lake Como
Description
Roveglio is a beautifully restored 2-bedroomed cottage, adjacent to the farmhouse, on an early 19th century hill-farm, producing award-winning olive oil and organic cheese. Five minutes drive up from the lakeside town of Lenno, the air is fresh and scented with wild herbs, the views are stunning and instead of traffic you hear cowbells. The Anglo-Italian owners will be glad to help plan your holiday. N.B. We are required to collect the local tourist tax (€3/night) from all guests older than 10. The space The last stretch of the road is both narrow and steep, therefore a car with a minimum 1.3l engine and without low suspension is strongly recommended. The house is spacious, whatever the weather, with views in every direction. Guest access The Cottage has its own parking space, two terraces and garden. Guests are also welcome to walk in the terraced garden and on the farm, as long as they close gates. Depending on the season there are also fresh herbs and vegetables near the cottage, and figs in late summer. Other things to note Please ask Antonella if you would like to buy the cheese she makes in the farm dairy. Our olive oil won best in class in the New York International Olive Oil Competition in 2019 and a Gold Medal in 2018, as well as a gold medal at the 2021 Athens International Competition and is used by some of the top restaurants on the lake.
