Welcome to Greenshades, a gorgeous swiss chalet hidden in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom, in the foothills of Jay Peak. Whether for a weekend away with your family, or more prolonged stays for those looking to work from home in the gorgeous north woods, Greenshades makes for a wonderful retreat. You can enjoy the great hiking, biking, food, waterfalls, road biking, mountain biking found locally from the peace and comfort of our alpine chalet! The space Greenshades is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom alpine chalet that boasts a vaulted ceiling, gorgeous mountain views, and a wood burning fireplace. The first and second floor each feature two bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 8 people. The basement level was fully remodeled Spring '22, to accommodate up to 5 others, but functions well as a workspace for those working from home. For those who enjoy their outdoor time, you can enjoy some epic stargazing from our large outdoor deck, a private stone fire pit to share drinks/smores/etc, and have direct access miles of community hiking trails directly from Greenshades' front doorstep Main Floor: - Large, newly built deck with grill and outdoor seating (outdoors) - Fire pit access (outdoors) - Living room with wood-burning fireplace - Dining area - Kitchen - Full bathroom with tub - Bedroom with queen bed - Bedroom with full bed Second Floor: - Office nook with board games and book selection - Full bathroom with shower - Bedroom with queen bed - Bedroom with full bed Lower Level: - Alternate living space - Full bathroom - Laundry - Three twin beds and a full bed - Office desk Guest access You have access to everywhere in the house except the owner's linen closet on the third floor, and the garage. Other things to note Must be 25 or older to book. Stays of 14 days or longer will require an additional cleaning every 14 days at the guests' expense beyond the cleaning included with their stay. Check in is at 3pm on the day of arrival. Early check in of 1pm may be available for a fee of $35, but requires confirmation by the owners. Check out is at 10am on the day of departure. Late check out of 12pm may be available for a fee of $50, but requires confirmation by the owners. Any guests that check out after 10am will be subject to the late charge fee of $50/hour, until 3pm, at which point the late charge will correspond to one full night’s rate, undiscounted. Smoking and/or vaping inside Greenshades is not permitted, as are open flames of any sort, besides the chalet's wood stove (candles, personal propane stoves/kettles, etc.) and use of glitter. Failure to respect this prohibition, or improper use of the wood stove resulting in damage to the property, will result in an additional fees to clean, remove the odors, and/or mitigate damage at owner's discretion (min. $250). Electric cars welcome to charge, for a $15 fee per day.
