Experience the ultimate summer basecamp at 'The Sharn' (shop+barn) … a unique, two-story living space tucked inside our private barn on a 300-acre farm. Located on the Ouachita River with access for floating and fishing, this is the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re coming to dig for crystals in nearby Mt. Ida or explore the Ouachita National Forest, The Sharn offers a comfortable, private, and memorable retreat for your next adventure. The space A cozy, "cabin-feel" space featuring a covered porch, a dining area for four. Sleeping: Comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests, with two queen and one twin beds upstairs. There is a full size sleeper sofa downstairs in the living/kitchenette area that can be used although space is limited. Convenience: The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, mini-fridge, electric skillet, and air fryer. There is no stove or kitchen sink. A dish tub is provided, and outdoor charcoal grilling is available for easy summer meals. Bathroom: Features a large tiled walk-in shower with convenient access from both the porch and the interior. Half bath upstairs. Climate: Fully climate-controlled with a split-system AC/heat unit. During winter months, the downstairs floor can also be warmed by floor heat. Guest access We are just off of Hwy 270, 10 miles northwest of Mt Ida, Arkansas (quartz Crystal capital!) Water Access: We are located directly on the Ouachita River with our own Pencil Bluff canoe take-out. Local canoe and kayak rentals from local outfitters or bring your own! Farm & Forest: Enjoy 300 acres of private land for hiking, fishing, biking, or relaxing by the fire pit just below The Sharn. Nearby Gems: You’re just 10 miles from Mt. Ida (the Quartz Crystal capital), 20 minutes from Lake Ouachita, and an hour from Hot Springs National Park. Other things to note We want you to have the best time possible in the Ouachita outdoors! To ensure you're prepared: Outdoor Essentials: We recommend bringing boots, bug repellent, sunscreen, and water for your hikes. River Ready: If you plan on floating, please bring sturdy water shoes (flip-flops are not recommended, as the river rocks can be sharp). Supplies: Don't forget your ice chest, favorite drinks, easy meals, and paper products for your stay. Adventure Gear: Bring your own binoculars to enjoy the local wildlife and your favorite lawn chairs for the fire pit!
