Driving into our secluded valley you'll instantly be cocooned by sounds of nature. "Pondok Joglo di Sawah" is nestled within our private Bali garden retreat. You'll be our only guests staying to enjoy the amazing pool, gardens, rice paddies and hospitality. We're located 10 km (20 minutes) north of downtown Ubud, so you will have the best of both worlds - a genuine Ubud retreat in a natural setting just a stones throw away from all the adventures that the Ubud region has to offer. The space Our Joglo was carefully restored and built, initially as the owners home. It has a beautiful day bed on a huge veranda that connects the home to the rice paddies & juggle its' overlooking giving you a private retreat and beautiful views. You have a small kitchen to make tea or coffee and all the amenities you'll need. Your host Antara lives on the same property, along with the owners. So whilst you have privacy, you'll also have people around to interact with and help make your stay perfect. The unique part of the home is that you have the option to just relax for the day and enjoy the space or get out into the country side and or go into Ubud. It's always cooler than Ubud here, as it's elevated, making it a great spot to escape the heat and or crowds elsewhere. A true retreat. You can rent a bike ( from us) that is for guest hire only - so the bike is well maintained and great helmets & a raincoat. We can arrange a driver from our local village to show you the sites. The room does not have air-conditioning as were located at a higher elevation so it tends to be cooler here and, besides, you have the natural cooling effect of the rice paddies and running water that flows through them. The Joglo is designed to fit in with the natural environment and is cool and secure retreat. Restaurants and getting a bite to eat. We're able to private dinner if requested in advance. We do have a boutique villa/hotel that is a walk up the road that has great food and drink. So you don't need to travel if you wish to sit back and enjoy for the area in the evening. Breakfast is provided. Guest access The whole house which includes a queen bed, large verandas that wrap around the property that have a huge day bed, dinning table and bean bags to laze around on and just sit back and enjoy the view or read a book. A desk for working if you need it and then the outside of the property - a pool with deck chairs and a lounge to relax by. Beautiful tropical gardens. Other things to note Pondok di Sawah Ancient Teak house, surrounded by gardens with rice field view on one of Ubud’s still unspoiled rural sawah ridges... Near the old town of Klusa, with some nice local warung and first class restaurants, it definitely provides the peaceful feel of old Bali, it’s famous ceremonies and ample walking-and cycling possibilities... The 600 meter elevation provides a much appreciated cooler climate.. Distance to Ubud 20 minutes by scooter or car. The accomodation comes with full service by the Balinese staff, very personal attention to all your needs re. daytrips, transport, reservations , meals etc. The large pool provides chairs and a lounger. A small fridge and gas cooker for your comfort provided. Indonesian- or continental breakfast is included in the price.
