Please read fully: Cozy ground-story suite with full kitchen and private entrance. Built in 1910, the Flying Dragon maintains a vintage character and charm. Wake up to sounds of wildlife; bathe in the clawfoot tub; enjoy the ease of cooking in a home away from home. Nestled in the peace and quiet (and green) of Missionary Ridge, the suite is perfect for a weekend retreat or long/short term business travel. Close to Downtown, Northshore, Southside, UTC, McCallie, Memorial, Erlanger, the airport. The space Completely private, ground-level, "in-law" suite with private parking. At the Flying Dragon you'll have access to a one bedroom suite with a sitting room, marble tiled bathroom, and galley kitchen. The bedroom is separated from the sitting room with sliding glass doors and contains a queen bed, dresser, and closet. The sitting room feeds into the fully equipped kitchen where you will find all the necessities you'd need to cook your own meals. There is no microwave, but there is a fully functioning stove, oven, and toaster for your use. The marble bathroom boasts a beautiful clawfoot tub, but please be careful - the marble can get slippery. Soaps and towels are provided, as well as coffee and snacks to get you started in the morning. There is no TV, but WiFi password will be provided upon your arrival. As this is a century old property (with renovations, of course) it has some eccentricities and may not be for everyone. The bones are strong but the walls are thin - please note that you may hear us living in the house above. Additionally, as we are in the South in a natural area, it is not uncommon for the occasional creepy crawly to make its way into the suite. They are not pervasive and we do our best to keep them at bay, but by booking the Flying Dragon you are acknowledging their potential presence. Guest access Within walking distance there is a beautiful hillside view of the Chattanooga valley on the historic Crest Road. Downtown Chattanooga, the Airport, and all amenities are within 10 minutes driving. Beautiful hiking and outdoor activities can be found on Signal Mountain, Lookout Mountain, Ruby Falls, and Cloudland Canyon- all within 30 minutes driving. The suite does not have access to a washer or dryer, but there are multiple laundromats and laundry services within a mile radius. Other things to note There are 6 steps leading up to the front door. The house has been renovated but there are fixtures and appliances that have been around for awhile. Please be gentle. Shallowford Road is a relatively busy local thorough way and care should be taken when entering and exiting the driveway. There is no street parking but off street parking is available at the bottom of the sloped driveway to the right of the house. This will lead directly to your entrance. Please be careful when walking around the driveway - it is an old house and there are some dislodged bricks to avoid.
