A cute & cozy boutique historic flat in the Sciennes area of Edinburgh by the Meadows Park, within walking distance to the centre, Holyrood Parks, Edinburgh University and Marchmont. Historic building overlooking a lovely inner courtyard. Living/bedroom, large separate kitchen and small shower room with wc. This building, built in 1741, was the meeting house between Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns during the Scottish Enlightenment period. The space A cozy home-away-from-home, this cute boutique-style flat is located in a quiet street overlooking an inner courtyard in a fantastic part of town 2 minutes from the Meadows Park. Very close to Marchmont's wonderful cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. Within walking distance to some of Edinburgh's highlights - The Royal Mile and Old Town, Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, Festival Theatre, Edinburgh University, the Union Canal, Braid Hills and much more. - A quiet and cozy bedroom/living room combined area with a double bed, quality white cotton linens, sofa and TV with Netflix. - A very spacious fully-equipped kitchen with all the necessities for cooking, a stand up fridge/freezer, and a table that seats 4 for dining. - In the small shower room, you'll find an electric shower (the top dial controls pressure; the bottom dials control water temperature), along with the WC, sink and mirror. Please note, this is a small shower room, and electric showers are not as powerful as plumbed-in showers. For our North American guests this is noteworthy. We also provide fresh towels and some toiletries for your convenience. WiFi is available in the home at tested speeds of around 10Mbps. We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol, with professional cleaning. Sorry, no pets allowed or smokers. Parking: this is a controlled parking area. You can park for free in permit spaces and in the paid parking spaces from Friday at 5.30pm to Monday at 8am. At all other times it's paid metered parking near the flat (closest paid parking is on Sciennes and Sciennes Rd around the corner or opposite Sainsbury's local on Causewayside). Some free parking spots can be found between South Lauder Road and West Savile Terrace - check parking signs before parking there. We hope you have a lovely stay. We are always available to answer any queries you might have. We are licensed under the Short-stay scheme and our appliances and fire safety equipment is safety-tested as required. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire home! Other things to note Please note that this is a character flat in a historic building and there is a top-of-the-range electric shower in the flat, but electric showers are not as powerful as boiler-heated systems. This is a self check-in property and you will need to pick up keys from the lockbox outside the front door. You can check-in anytime after 4pm. Also, we charge £50 for each set of lost keys (security keys may cost more). For security purposes, there may be an additional cost to replace the locks. So, please keep your keys safe :) There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking in the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.) we reserve the right to charge a £300 GBP smoking fee. We do not allow parties, large gatherings, loud noises, or outside guests. Should we receive sufficient evidence of such activity we reserve the right to cancel your stay (without refund) and may involve a security team to evict you. Any associated cost will be charged to you via your security deposit. Local authorities may also be present (if required). We also do not accept pets.
