Although there is no designated parking space, we have never experienced any difficulty finding a space nearby. It can be identified by the low stone wall and the long barrier gate beside it. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. This allows for easy self check-in and the flexibility to arrive at a time that suits you from 3pm onwards unless otherwise agreed with us. Other things to note Lilac Cottage is particularly well suited to guests who appreciate: -Character and history -A slower pace of life -A beautiful small village -A peaceful countryside setting About Your Stay: Outside Rear Garden: The rear garden is secure however our neighbour has a right of access through/into the rear garden should they ever need to carry out maintenance to their property. -Their cottage walls form the boundary to our rear garden. We wish to make guests aware of this possibility in the interests of transparency. Inside Lilac Cottage is a beautiful 17th-century home full of charm and historic character. These original features are part of what makes the cottage so special, but we ask guests to bear the following in mind before booking: Steep Staircase The staircase is narrow and winding and may not be suitable for everyone. Low Ceilings and Beams Some areas of the cottage have low, sloping ceilings and exposed beams, so please take care and mind your head. Uneven Floors As with many period properties, some floors are uneven and there are steps between certain areas. Please take extra care underfoot. Suitability Due to these historic features, Lilac Cottage may not be suitable for very young crawling or toddling children, or for guests with reduced mobility. Fireplace The cottage features an authentic inglenook fireplace, which guests are welcome to enjoy. We kindly ask that it is used responsibly and safely. Please ensure the fire is always supervised and fully extinguished before leaving the room or retiring for the night. An initial supply of logs is provided for your stay. Should you require additional logs, these can be purchased locally; please enquire at the village shop for details.
