The cottage is just 5km from the centre of Thames township; everything is nearby, including the popular Hauraki Rail Trail which is a 3.5km cycle from Bakehouse Cottage. The space Everything you need for an extended stay is available in the cottage - cooking facilities, laundry, DVDs, books, and comfortable furniture. The bedroom is set up for either 2 singles or as a super-king bed. For ambience, a wood-burner keeps the cottage warm in winter if you do not want to use the heating. There is no shortage of hot water which is heated by gas. Firewood and kindling is supplied. And to while away those lazy afternoons with a good book, the front verandah over-looking the cottage garden has comfortable cane arm chairs. Guest access Access to the entire property and the river is provided for guests. The walk to the river through the woodland area is a calming experience, and the farm animals are well behaved. Guests may help themselves to the many varieties of fruit available in season on the trees . And a 3 minute walk under the stars to see the glow worms is a very pleasant evening activity.
