Garden Home Backyard Yurt Experience

Our cozy-comfy 4 season yurt is nestled under majestic trees on a beautifully landscaped 1/3 acre. Located in a quiet, safe SW Portland neighborhood with a park, hike/bike trail a block away. We are 6 miles from downtown, with beaches, gorge and Mt. Hood accessible for day outings. There is a full kitchen, a natural gas fireplace and complete electrical and plumbing service. The guests full bathroom is located in the home's utility room a short lighted pathway walk from the yurt. The space The soft circular feel of our spacious 24 foot diamater yurt is welcoming and relaxing the moment you step in from the covered porch (with hammock). The 12.5 foot conical ceiling has a clear copula at its apex with trees and sky to gaze out at. Family play is the way; the backyard is equipped with badminton, trampoline, 30ft. tree swing and a children's play house. A fire pit sits next to the yurt with bench and lawn chairs set-up for an aesthetic evening fire or roasting marshmallows. Furnishings include a circular dining table with chairs, a desk with office chair, 2 wicker chairs, a lounge chair, reclining chair, chest of drawers, towel storage cabinet, end tables . There is a portable massage table in the main house, which can be used on request. The queen and standard beds have memory foam toppers and get high marks for comfort. The single bed is a pull-out at floor level, under the queen guest, as needed. There is a full kitchen with hot and cold running water, a coffee maker, microwave, hot water kettle, an under the counter refrigerator, several cabinets and a rolling cart with butcher block cutting board and shelves for supplies. The kitchen has dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils; everything thing you need to prepare meals easily. There is a cast iron natural gas fireplace in the yurt for a cozy fire in the evening or to take the chill out of the air any time you feel the need. The fireplace has a remote control with a thermostat. The yurt sits in the SW corner of the lot, 30 feet from the house, for a feeling of separation and privacy. Guest access Guest can access the whole backyard, which has a large deck attached to our house. There is a back door to the utility room of the main house with a full private guest bathroom that has complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a blow dryer and electrical outlets in the bathroom. The bathroom has a heater and exhaust fan. The shower is 4' x 3'. Laundry facilities in the main house utility room w/detergent can be used/shared gratis on request. Other things to note Complimentary items provided in the yurt include, coffee, teas, sugar, honey, cooking oil, some spices, salt and pepper. Filter water (Multipure system) is provide from a spigot on the sink. Please feel free to use the shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in the bathroom. There are lots of bath and hand towels, wash clothes, dish towels and rags to use, as needed. Otherwise, bring your own creamer, food and supplies. You have full cooking facilities in the yurt kitchen. There is not an oven in the yurt, but we are happy to share our home oven, when possible. We do not charge a cleaning, but ask you to leave the kitchen clean; dishes and pots washed (ok to leave them in the dish drainer). Thanks!
