We are conveniently located on K-10 between Kansas City & Lawrence. Yet secluded enough that your view will be one of mostly nature. We have a fire pit and host a Christmas Carol bonfire each year. There are only 2 other houses in our area. The space is large enough a group of 8 women stayed for a retreat. We live upstairs above the Airbnb and are self-employed. The space is a separate apartment in the basement of our home. Newly remodeled/ rebuilt 2015 from a house fire that destroyed the whole house and was rebuilt from foundation up. We have a 2 acre property. So plenty of yard to relax in. We will stock and start a fire in the fire pit, for your outside evening enjoyment for a $15 fee. We can provide S'mores ingredients for another $5 per person. My husband, myself and our adult daughter live upstairs. One of us are almost always available if needed. We are people persons, but allow you your privacy unless you want to talk. There are only 2 other houses in our "neighborhood" My Favorite Coffee shop is Cause Coffee about 3 mins away. Open Tues-Sat 8am-2pm. Atmosphere is very pleasant. Fireplace etc. (4) Nature parks within 3-8 mins. They include: Hiking, Biking, Walking, playground for children. Boat launches for fishing and swimming. There is no public transportation in DeSoto. KU & Clinton Lake are less than 20 mins away. Kansas Speedway, Country Club Plaza, Kaufman Center & Sprint Center approx 30 mins. Royals & Chiefs 35 mins & Worlds & Oceans of Fun 50 mins. PETS: Pets are allowed with prior consent @$25 They are NOT allowed to be left unattended. There is a brown sheet on the desk marked for use if pets will be on the futon with you. BEDS: The Queen bed in bedroom is always made up with fresh linens for each new guest. The Futon in the Living Room is made with fresh linens when needed. I charge a EXTRA $5 for it and an EXTRA $5 for the army cot. Both are labor intensive and I have a bad back so family has to help me. EXTRA VEHICLES: We need to know if you are bringing more than one car. **No additional charge UNLESS you "DON'T" give us a heads up.**Then we will charge a $10 inconvenience fee. We have plenty of parking space available but past guests have blocked our driveway with a second vehicle or trailer. Thank you for your help in this matter. EXTENDED STAYS: A cleaning fee is added of $20 for stays (3 ) or more days.
