The space Welcome to our wonderful family-friendly house in the affluent neighborhood of Mankkaa, Espoo. With its convenient amenities, this delightful 100.5 sq foot home offers the perfect setting for your visit to the Helsinki/Espoo area. You'll feel right at home in this duplex nestled within a peaceful housing association consisting of 14 homes. The duplex features three bedrooms, ample space for your entire family, and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room to accommodate extra guests. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals with ingredients from nearby supermarket, one of the best in the country! After a day of exploring, unwind in the sauna or fire up the gas BBQ for a relaxing evening of grilling. Our outdoor space offers a shared playground with swings and a sandbox, perfect for your little ones to enjoy (and there is a playground few hundred meters away). We even have a backyard trampoline for the bigger kids. Mankkaa is a lovely safe and quiet area in the capital region, offering easy access to both Helsinki and Espoo. Nature enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover the nearby bike and walk paths. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at the close-by Tapiola Golf course. The location is convenient whether you rent a car of rely on public transport. A short 200-meter walk will take you to the bus stop, where you can catch a ride to the metro station. Within a 5-10 minute walk, you'll find two grocery stores, pharmacy, Alko (liquor store) and several pizza/burger restaurants, ensuring that all your needs are met. We also offer free parking in a dedicated carport. Helsinki's vibrant city center is only a 20-minute drive away; the airport is a convenient 25-minute journey; and there are 2 large shopping centers only 10-15 minutes away. During the winter months, embrace the Finnish way and try the free cross-country ski tracks, ice skating, and tobogganing located nearby. In the summer, both ocean and lake beaches and nice beach walks of patio restaurants are just a 10-minute drive away. Whether you're planning a short getaway or an extended stay, we offer weekly and monthly rates to cater to your needs. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Please note that we welcome up to 8 people for short stays, but for longer stays, we recommend a maximum of 6 people to ensure everyone has a bedroom to sleep in. Additionally, we can arrange a baby/toddler playpen/bed, high chair, raised kid chair, and bathroom stool to ensure the safety and comfort of your little ones. (Please note that we do not have child/toddler safety gates for the stairwell.) Finland is famous for its saunas, and we encourage you to indulge in this traditional experience during your stay. After a relaxing sauna session, cool off with a refreshing drink on the upstairs balcony while enjoying the soothing sounds of birds singing in the backyard trees. For your entertainment, we provide WIFI and board games and access to movie channels such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the TV has Chromecast for mirroring phone context. Other things to note When in Finland you must try sauna! It is lovely to cool off between sauna sessions with a beer or a "lonkero" (gin long drink) on the upstairs balcony and listen to the birds sing in the backyard trees. We may be able to rent out cross-country or downhill ski sets or bikes as needed. We'll make sliders/sleds available for free. And there are board games and movie channels (Netflix/Amazon Prime/Chromecast) for family entertainment. There is air conditioning (somewhat uncommon in Finland). Please note we do not have child/toddler safety gates for the stairwell. For nominal fee, we can arrange a baby/toddler playpen/bed, high chair or raised kid chair and bathroom stool to be available. The house has a Verisure alarm/protection system with sensors in various rooms. The system is inactive during occupancy.
