Experience a typical stone house located in a quiet hamlet, surrounded by olive and oak groves and vineyards only 9km from Uzès. Our house dates back to the 12th century and contains 7 spacious and stylish bedrooms, several living spaces, a courtyard and pool. The Kitchen is well equipped for elaborate meals or quick cooking. The house has been lovingly and aesthetically restored, often featuring in decor magazines and lifestyle publications. Its character is warm, unpretentious & inviting. The space The oldest part of our home dates to the 12th century, about the same time as the village church. This ancient house was lovingly restored giving utmost importance to the region's authentic style. Many rooms have original floors, fireplaces and authentic ceiling appliques. The house contains distinct features such as an indoor well, a magnificent stone staircase and an indoor, top-floor patio where swallows nest in the summer. The 6 en-suite rooms come with double beds (with the possibility to convert some to twin) and some with extra beds. Three of these rooms have extra beds, a living space, a personal terrace and a kitchenette. A 7th bedroom gives onto a unique first floor patio and shares the bathroom with one of the other rooms. The house has a convivial salon, a dining room and a courtyard/ garden with a pool and sundeck. A long communal table is perfect for long meals with friends and families. Other communal spaces include the indoor patio where one can sit with a book, chat in good company (not provided :P) or a glass of wine, listening to the chatter of birds. Many other places provide for nooks and corners to retreat to. A laundry room contains two washing machines and a dryer for your use. The kitchen contains a fridge and small freezer and a cooking range with five hobs and an oven. A toaster, water boiler and microwave are also available. The pool is good sized and has an area with sunbeds for tanning. Check-in / Check-out : Saturday only Other information: -Daily cleaning or extra cleaning can be arranged in advance. -PETS are welcome but no sleeping on beds, please. -Parking is available just behind the house. -Smoking in the courtyard or outdoor spaces (not indoors) Some possible activites/ things to do: - Uzes : a charming, medieval town - Avignon : town with history (papal capital in the past), large theatre festival - Arles : Lovely town in the Camargue, the home of Van Gogh for a while and an important photo festival - Camargue : national park with semi-wild horses and bulls, walks, birding and beach - Nîmes : Roman city, culture, shopping, sight-seeing, concerts - Smaller villages, wine-tasting, walks, hikes, biking, canoeing, favourite picnic spots - Provençal towns and villages Guest access The whole house including 7 rooms, kitchen, laundry, dining room, salon (living area), courtyard, pool. Other things to note The house is available from Saturday to Saturday, for a weekly rental.
