If you prefer a ride, there is Lyft or a cab in town. This beautiful, historic home is quiet and welcoming. Your peaceful space is right next to the entrance and adjacent to the living room. Please know there is usually some sort of labor of loving improvement we are working on. You are invited to enjoy the downstairs portion of the home which has a private front porch area, substantial shared living room, dining room, full bathroom, and kitchen. For history buffs, Red Wing has 22 individually listed buildings and sites and three historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places. Home construction in this residential area began shortly after this home was built in the eighteen-eighties to the nineteen-twenties. Attracted by employment at the cooper shop (barrel maker), multiple bungalows and foursquares popped up throughout the east end. Today, the area remains nestled between the city's tallest bluffs - Ȟemníčhaŋ (previously called Barn Bluff) and Sorin's Bluff/Memorial Park (dedicated in 1927 for our military and for outdoor recreation). Located close to downtown and in between two bluffs, walking is easy for many. However, our community is pleased to offer Lyft and a local taxi service as well. We recently adopted Betty who is the sweetest, medium-sized, mixed breed dog. She would love to meet you, but totally understands if you prefer not to. If you are interested in an extended stay as an outage worker or business traveler, please let me know. The City of Red Wing requires we charge city Hotel/Motel Sales Tax (3%). The cleaning fee is used to cover the taxes required by the city.
