#2 Room with ensuite in wilderness lodge

A private room with queen bed & small ensuite in a boutique C1890's lodge, like a private hotel room but with a more homely atmosphere. Your room looks out onto native trees, has tea & coffee making provisions, small TV, fridge & sofa. We aim to provide clean/comfy accommodation set on 3 waterfront acres with peaceful native garden & overlooking beautiful Macquarie Harbour. BBQ/fire pit facilities outside. Yet only a short 3 minute drive to the town centre, restaurants and cruise boats. The space A great base for exploring the beautiful West Coast of Tasmania, the Strahan Wilderness Lodge or the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views, read a book & reflect in private. Like a hotel we offer private guest rooms with ensuites but with a more homely atmosphere. There's a small TV in your room with Tea & coffee making facilities & fridge. You are also welcome to use the shared guests lounge/Kitchenette/dining room with, microwave and toaster. We don't have a restaurant on the premises (nearest is 3 min drive away). BBQ facilities outside. Basic cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided. Enjoy sitting by one of our fire pots in the evening, while you take in the surrounding nature and harbour views (firewood supplied and subject to any current fire restrictions at the time). Continental breakfast provisions can be purchased in advance for $10 per person if required. You can also bring your own food or take-aways to eat in your room or in the guests kitchenette/dining room. You are also welcome to spread out into the guests lounge if you feel like it. A peaceful place to relax & take in the views are of bushland, harbour, and distant mountains. Ocean Beach is a 5 minute drive away and the sound of the surf can be heard from our property. Spend a relaxing day amongst a diversity of birdlife and wildflowers. Take a short five minutes, or extended 40 minutes walk as you explore the boats and foreshore. Only 3 minute drive into the centre of town, eateries and cruise terminals. 5 minutes drive to the Wilderness Railway station. Feel free to contact us with any queries regarding tours and bookings etc. This room is suitable for a couple or 1 person. Guest access Wifi available ***Check in time is between 2pm - 6pm. Please let us know if you will be later than 6pm so that we can organise an after hours check in. Other things to note Our guest house is over 120 years old, it's not a modern place. It has it’s little quirks like a few squeaky floor boards. When it was first established as a guests house the rooms didn’t have ensuites. These have been added later so that every room has it’s own bathroom. Some of the ensuites (bathrooms) are on the small side. There is a shared kitchenette. It is a bit oldish (think 70's style) it is on the list for Reno’s in the near future, but is there if you wish to use it. It has a microwave, toaster, sink, crockery, cooking utensils, etc. ***Check in time is between 2pm - 6pm. Please let us know if you will be later than 6pm so that we can organise an after hours check in. Check out is 10am. You have a small TV, fridge & kettle in your room but you are also welcome to use the shared guests lounge/dining room with TV, Microwave and fridge. Affordable Waterfront accommodation at 5 Sarson Close Strahan, only 3 minutes drive from World Heritage and Strahan Village Gordon River Cruises offices and the starting point for cruises into the Tasmanian Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park Wilderness World Heritage area. Strahan wilderness railway station 5 minutes away, Queenstown station 45min. Cradle Mountain 2hrs north , Derwent Bridge ,Lake Stclair The Wall 2.5hr south. West coast major towns, Queenstown, Zeehan Rosebery and Tullah are between 45 to 60min drive.
