Description

The Pigsty is a modern, comfortable barn conversion situated in an area that used to be part of the farmyard, opposite our farmhouse cottage and a pretty mill with a view of the village on the hillside where the sun sets. Little gated courtyard with table and chairs to enjoy that view. Walking distance to the village shop and local pub for drinks. Great footpaths to explore the countryside, you need a car to make the most of your stay. Maximum of two guests Check in from 4pm The space The cottage has an open plan living space with underfloor heating,. The kitchen area has a fridge, cooker, microwave, washing machine & dishwasher. There is a Smart TV, comfy sofa and table and chairs. On arrival We provide you with a welcome tray with tea & coffee sachets, milk, butter and muffins or croissants or something similar. Tea towels and dishwasher tablets are provided. Bath Sheets, hand soap, shower gel and soaps provided. There is a lockable shed for storage. The courtyard garden has a table and chairs and trellis gates to provide a private enclosure. We are central to many of the well known tourist attractions in this area. Longleat Safari park, Bath, Stourhead, Wells, Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge and The Mendip hills are all within a comfortable drive for days out. Guest access The whole house to yourselves, the courtyard and garden shed. There is no access to the fields or farm animals from The Pigsty but we are in an area where you can go on some wonderful walks, the footpaths are just along the lane. There is a private parking space right outside the cottage. The local pub is 5 minutes walk away, no food here, great for cider & beer and they sometimes live music at the weekends. Other pubs and restaurants are a short drive away in the next village. The village shop is a good size Co-op that sells most things you would need, a short drive or about 15 minutes walk. Other things to note To get the most out of staying here a car is essential, public transport is only from the top of the village a mile away and is scarce. You will need to drive on some rural lanes for the last couple of miles to get here.
