This Historic Bay House, “High Tide”, is close to family-friendly activities like the Kemah Boardwalk & NASA. The wrap-around balcony boasts panoramic views of the water, beautiful pampas grass & the popular Boardwalk. Our waterfront house is centrally located, with fresh seafood markets in walking distance, charming local restaurants & tons of nearby attractions! High-Tide is the only house on this street so there is lots of privacy to this home that has been in our family for 4 generations! The High Tide has been in our family since 1931, withstanding Hurricanes Carla, Allison, Alicia and Ike. She has undergone a lot of restoration, but still maintains her unique nautical charm and history. We have created, and continue to create, many happy memories in this very cherished home. We hope we can share some of that magic with you! The guests will have access to the entire first floor, the decks/balcony, as well as plenty of parking. There is a separate unit with a completely separate entrance on the second floor that is not available for this listing. Only as needed This has been a Bed &Breakfast since the 90's and sadly most of the neighboring establishments have been lost to past hurricanes. However, just down the street are the community's infamous fish markets and directly over the bridge is the ever popular Kemah Boardwalk. A rental car or personal vehicle is highly recommended. Ubers and Taxis are available in the area. -The house comfortably sleeps 4 (one double bed and two day-beds). -Breakfast is not included, but we highly suggest checking out Pelican Grill and Seabrook Waffle Company down the street, and for dinner a trip over to Tookie's or the Boardwalk - There is a TV with Xfinity in the living room, but no televisions in the bedrooms. - Only a 20 minute drive to Galveston Island with Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Water Park (our personal favorite), The Historic Galveston Boardwalk, and the beach; a 30 min drive into Downtown Houston (ie. NRG Stadium, Minute Maid Park, George R. Brown Convention Center); and just another 10 or 15 min beyond that will get you to many of Houston’s key destinations including the Museum District, Rice Village, Memorial City, and Town & Country. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with or without kids). Whether you’re in the mood to stay in and have a relaxing time with the views and privacy, or more akin to a fun day out at all of the attractions around you, there is no shortage of available activities here at the High Tide.
