Description

Located just 10min from Dayboro this is a beautifully restored 1920’s Queensland farmhouse with unrivalled views of Lacey’s Creek valley bellow. Situated at the top of a ridgeline on an 110acre working farm with numerous walking tracks to explore and many incredible views. Heritage accommodation, with 3 bedrooms, a large family room, full kitchen and beautifully restored bathroom. Sit on your own private balcony and enjoy sunset over the valley with a ever present cool afternoon breeze. The space The house has been lovingly restored to its original glory, retaining the charm and character of a classic 1920s Queenslander. Inside you’ll find 12-foot ceilings, stained-glass casement windows, polished timber floors, and a cosy wood-fire heater for cooler evenings. Great care has been taken to preserve the original hardware and windows, so the home feels much as it would have over a century ago — warm, solid, and full of history. Lacey’s Creek is a working farm, and part of the experience is the gentle presence of animals around the homestead. You’re likely to see chickens and ducks foraging in the yard, the occasional cheeky goat passing through, and ( depending on the season) cattle grazing in nearby paddocks. Children especially love this aspect of the stay. Please note there is no air conditioning. The house is perched on a ridgeline and benefits from a near-constant cooling breeze, making it noticeably cooler than town. Ceiling fans are fitted in every room for comfort. Guest access Full access to a 3 bedroom Queenslander with private bathroom, kitchen, veranda and family room. Other things to note Like much of regional Australia, mobile reception is Telstra only and can be patchy, which many guests enjoy as a chance to properly switch off. As we rely on rainwater, we ask guests to please be mindful of water use, particularly during drier periods. The homestead is over 100 years old and has a few charming quirks typical of its era. One of these is the bathroom, which is attached to the house but accessed via an external door (approximately a 2-metre walk). We recommend checking local road conditions before travelling, as summer rainfall can occasionally cause temporary closures. You can also find us featured in a recent ABC article, or follow along on social media to learn more about the property.
