Description
This airy, modern beach house is right on the esplanade overlooking the cliff top sandhills of beautiful Willyama Beach. 450m right is the edge of Dhilba Guuranda - Innes National Park, and 300m left is Marion Bay proper. With a wide shady deck on three sides there is always a sheltered outdoor place to relax, enjoy a BBQ and watch for the emus and kangaroos that often stroll down our street (wildlife notes below). Children are welcome but bear in mind there are stairs and a high balcony. The space This is a very large two story house which will comfortably house two families, or even three. ***We have recently added bed linen and towels to our amenities - not common in this location!*** Upstairs has a large airy open plan living/dining/kitchen area with windows on three sides that give on to a wide deck and look out over the sandhills above Willyama Beach. There is a large TV and a fireplace, and reverse cycle a/c. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One has a King bed, the other a Queen bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite and access to the deck. There is another bathroom and an additional separate toilet upstairs as well. Down stairs has a large open living area. There are two bedrooms each containing a Queen bed and a third bedroom with two “triple” bunks (ie single over double). The open living area also has two single beds. The downstairs bathroom has doors onto the living area and also to one of the bedrooms. There is also a home theatre, where you can project DVDs or stream movies from your device via our Chromecast and your favourite streaming app. The backyard is plain, spacious and fully enclosed. There is an outside shower for when you return from the beach! The front yard opens to Whipbird Way and the sandhills. The stairs to the beach are just a few metres along the street. We enjoy a multitude of wild life in Marion Bay so you are quite likely to see Emus and Kangaroos in the front yard and various reptiles in the sand-hills so watch where you step! Micro bats live in the cliff face across the road and can be seen at dawn and dusk swooping around the eaves of the house. Sometimes a stray bat might make it's way inside - don't be alarmed, just let it find its own way outside and enjoy the experience. Our cleaner is Linda. She is paid to leave the house immaculate for guests, but not to clean and tidy a grossly messy, untidy and dirty house. You are asked to leave the house tidy and all items where you found them or extra cleaning fees may result, and indeed we may lose Linda so your assistance is greatly appreciated. Cleaners are hard to find in this remote location. Of course we don't expect you to scrub the floors and polish the shower screens, but we do ask that you pick up rubbish and empty the inside bins, leave drawers orderly and clean, replace furniture, bedding, kitchen items and anything else where you found it and ensure that the floor is not covered with food and spills. Food crumbs, full bins, unwashed dishes or a dirty BBQ attracts ants, rats and mice, which in turn attract snakes, and no-one wants that. The cleaner cannot always attend as soon as you leave, so it is super important to clean up after yourselves for the sake of future guests. Please note this is a no pets listing. If you bring pets without discussing first it may attract an additional cleaning fee. Guest access The entire house and yard are available for guests Other things to note The House is on rainwater only so we ask that you use it wisely. There is no mains water at all, and we survive on two 20,000 liter tanks. It seldom rains in summer so that is all the water we have! Previously we have asked you to bring your own sheets and towels, but we are now supplying them. This does add stress to our water supply, so again we ask you to use the water wisely please. There is a bio-cycle septic system so please care for it and only put toilet paper in it - no tampons, condoms, wipes or anything else. Don’t allow children to play in the front yard as it us watered by the biocycle. There are some basics provided in the kitchen such as salt, pepper, oil and herbs but otherwise you need to bring all of your food and beverages. Remember that the closest supermarket is 50km away. A small general store in Marion Bay can supply basics, and there is a small pub and bottle shop. There is a Nespresso machine, so bring your favourite coffee pods too! Or you can use one of the stove top coffee machines instead. The pot belly stove works wonderfully, but in wild weather sometimes a few drops of water make their way inside around the chimney - don't be alarmed! Sometimes a stray bat might make it's way inside - once again, don't be alarmed, just let it find its own way outside and enjoy the experience. We work hard to keep ants, mice and rats out of the house but if you do see some please let us know so that we can attend to it as soon as possible.
