The Burra Bungalow

The Burra Bungalow is a beautifully appointed home with an old world colonial charm, tucked away from the bustle of the crowds and yet, a 15-20 minute walk or quick drive from the Mall. It is airy, sunlit and spacious and has a fully equipped kitchen, wifi and television. The private parking can accommodate 3 cars. It offers scenic views and is the perfect place to switch off from the world, inviting you to breathe in the fresh air and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. The space The Burra Bungalow, at the height of 6,500 ft is a 100 year old home that has been modernized. It has wall to wall carpeting that keeps one snug even when it is cold outside. There are three double bedrooms, all with attached bathrooms. The larger two bedrooms' bathrooms have tubs and there is a 24 hour supply of water- a rarity in a hill station- as the place gets water from a private spring as well as the Municipal water supply. It is spacious and has large windows that face both East and West and let in plenty of sunshine and air. It also has 2 large patios on either side so you get the morning as well as afternoon sun. The western patio has a swing on which you can relax while having your tea. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, fridge, microwave, washing machine, water purifier and gas connection. There are 2 house help who will cook and clean for you and serve your meals, should you have any in the bungalow. There are also tea and coffee makers in the rooms. The Burra Bungalow has a large, gated parking which can accomodate upto three cars, should you wish to drive upto Mussoorie. The markets are about a 15 minute walk away and should you wish to order in, there are plenty of places close by that home deliver - home delivery Pamphlets have been placed in the rooms. If the hosts have advance notice, there is a trusted cab driver who can drive down to Dehra Dun and pick you up from the railway station or the airport. The same driver can take you around to places of interest in and around Mussoorie. He will charge you separately for this. Guest access The Burra Bungalow is separated from the cottage in which the hosts live by a gate and so, the entire space is yours to relax and bond with each other. Thus, it is the ideal getaway for a couple who desires privacy and comfort or a family who wants to explore the hill station and also bond over Board games and a cup of hot cocoa. It is also a lot of fun for like minded friends who want to get away together, far from the madding crowd! The hosts have two friendly dogs so, if you like dogs and would like to interact with the hosts, you are most welcome to sit out in the patio of the cottage or the lawn at the back- both of which have lovely views of the hills. If you prefer to stay away from dogs, the gate in between gives you both your privacy as well as your space. Hence, the amount you would or would not wish to interact with the hosts is entirely up to you. Other things to note Do check the weather before you go. carry an extra set of clothes just in case you decide to go wading in the Yamuna at Yamuna bridge or trekking. A sturdy pair of shoes and a jacket/shawl are a good idea as the weather is changeable. The sun is strong in the daytime as there is no pollution so do carry sunblock. The moment the sun sets, it starts to get cold.
